Why is Matt Damon So Dumb?
The Band of Patriots ^ | 8/3/11 | Bryan Thomas

As an actor, I absolutely love Matt Damon. The Bourne Ultimatum is one of the best movies I have ever seen. I can watch it again and again without getting tired of it. He is one of my favorite actors. However, his political ideas are some of the stupidest ideas I've ever heard.

Matt Damon has a crazy idea that he, and his fellow millionaires and billionaires, need to be taxed more so that his money can be used to help the world. He doesn't believe that he should have that money but that his money should be spread around and not given to him, but those who are worse off than him. In the interview below, he explains that it is "criminal" that the wealthy aren't paying more in taxes. Also in this interview, Matt Damon has the brilliant idea of taxing the rich more "per million dollars." It's interesting to watch.

I don't think Matt Damon is dumb. His mother is a teacher and I assume she is a good teacher and sincere person. She asked her son to stick up for teachers, meaning, stick up for her, his mother. Also, Damon is afraid that he'll be demonized for being rich by envious Americans, so he tells the world, “Take my money! I don't need it! Give it to teachers!” Damon's arguments are stupid, but I doubt he's stupid. More likely, he's being emotional (instead of rational and objective) or disingenuous.

Matt Damon is dumb because he can afford to be.

Damon usually phones in the same performance. He doesn’t have much range at all. He was brutal to watch in The Adjustment Bureau.

No. 1 Does anyone have his phone number?

No. 2. When I was younger I said something stupid like - Rich is not all it is made out to be and that money couldn’t by happiness yada, yada, yada. Then one day I found myself poor. And guess what? IT SUCKS!

The Bourne Ultimatum is one of the best movies I have ever seen.

I quit reading right there. The Bourne Ultimatum was a bucket of tripe, a liberal progressive wet dream of a movie. I.E. evil CIA rightwing leaders killing US enemies at any cost = evil, so then the poor liberal hero must conquer the evil rightwing conspiracy.
I prefer to think of The Bourne Identity as a standalone movie, as in the story stops at the end of it. The other 2 got progressively preachy and more liberal in tone until it was sickening.

Here's how hollywood actors make millions:

Light that bounces off them and is captured by celluloid.

I know what he’s written. I was just letting the poster know he paints with a broad brush.

Reagan did more than just acting, even before he became Governor of California, whereas Matt Damon has done nothing else. It took many years of work for Reagan to make the transition.

There was an interview when they filmed teh last Bourne movie, and Damon stupidly stated flat out that he was ‘surprised’ that “the Republicans didn’t come and shut down” the filming.
Somebody could probably find the exact quote and wording, but that was the meat of it, he was certain “they” were going to destroy the film.
Tells alot about his character and ego.

While The Bourne Ultimatum has many enjoyable action scenes, its message - and the message of pretty much all Damon's action movies - is that the United States is a tremendous force for evil, deliberately manipulating and murdering its own citizens in order to maximize wealth and power for a secret cabal of industrialists.

The Good Shepherd, Green Zone, The Adjustment Bureau, the Bourne series, all drive this point home aggressively. Even his roles in The Informant! and The Departed support this theme.

Damon's acting career and his ideology are in perfect lockstep.

I'm of the opinion that we should get a special act of congress to socialize all salaries just in Hollywood, Broadway and other defined parts of the entertainment industry. I would not include professional sports, because few athletes make the ridiculously stupid and one-sided statements as do those in the entertainment industry.

It would basically work like this: all actors and actress salaries would be equalized with slight differences to be allowed on the basis of seniority and merit pay. Anything earned beyond the agreed formula would be taxed at 100% to subsidize those who worked at less than the Screen Actors Guild average (less small exceptions for seniority and merit pay for box office hits).

Since there are hundreds of people in the entertainment industry living six to an apartment and waiting tables or tending bar for every big name raking in millions, it would be democratic as well.

What do you suppose Damon and his fellow entertainment stars would say about instituting such a pilot system in their industry to see how it would work before imposing it on the rest of the country?

I know a lot of liberals who are smarter than I am (a lot of conservatives are too).

But the liberals are absolutely clueless about politics, because they have been listening to each other for so long, and dismissing every conservative argument as not worth hearing. Plus they sit around and stroke each other about how much smarter they are than conservatives — which means they are not used to being challenged on facts and having to logically defend their position.

So the truth is, they are just really ignorant, and have no perspective on how intellectually flabby liberalism has become.

Look, I just finished re-reading Reagan’s autobiography (which my dog started to chew at about midway through...). The poster wrote a generalized remark about the intelligence of actors.. I replied making a comparison. That’s it. Bada bing, bada boom.

Believe me, acting must be the easiest thing on earth to do.

These ‘actors/actresses’ are about as intelligent as your average tree slug and there they are... making millions standing around in front of a camera doing ‘pretend’

Right... I want one of these dumb-as-dirt, photogenic losers telling me how the world works.

Okay - so Cambridge is a bit outside of Boston. I was being generic pointing to the area. So, how’s this instead? “A product of the Cambridge public school system that also harbors that liberal haven of Harvard” And affleck is a big white duck.

I was a theater major in college in the mid to late 70’s. You start right way studying anti-American or pro-Commie or nihilistic plays in Freshman year such as those by Arther Miller. All your acting and directing classes revolve around crap like that. You get to a point in which you cannot tell that what you are studying as “art” is just commie propaganda.

There you go again dangling those brats under my nose - shameful. I’m stoping at the deli on my way home - I’ll fix ya;) And, I have never heard any one say - my kingdom for a knackwurst - you may be right.
