Why is Matt Damon So Dumb?
The Band of Patriots ^ | 8/3/11 | Bryan Thomas

As an actor, I absolutely love Matt Damon. The Bourne Ultimatum is one of the best movies I have ever seen. I can watch it again and again without getting tired of it. He is one of my favorite actors. However, his political ideas are some of the stupidest ideas I've ever heard.

Matt Damon has a crazy idea that he, and his fellow millionaires and billionaires, need to be taxed more so that his money can be used to help the world. He doesn't believe that he should have that money but that his money should be spread around and not given to him, but those who are worse off than him. In the interview below, he explains that it is "criminal" that the wealthy aren't paying more in taxes. Also in this interview, Matt Damon has the brilliant idea of taxing the rich more "per million dollars." It's interesting to watch.

The real question is why ANYONE would give any credence whatsoever to someone whose only talent is to make faces into a camera while reciting lines that someone much smarter than him wrote.

Citizens who wish to make a general donation to the U.S. government may send contributions to a specific account called “Gifts to the United States.” This account was established in 1843 to accept gifts, such as bequests, from individuals wishing to express their patriotism to the United States. Money deposited into this account is for general use by the federal government and can be available for budget needs. These contributions are considered an unconditional gift to the government. Financial gifts can be made by check or money order payable to the United States Treasury and mailed to the address below.

He’s so smart he’s stupid.

Really ... for all these uber wealthies who say they aren’t taxed enough... they need to have a program for that.

The IRS needs to set up a way so that these “altruistic” uber wealthies can voluntarily pay more.

I’m sure that will cure our whole national problem. Because I keep hearing that they all want to pay more to the government.

Bingo.

Anybody who thinks that the US Government isn't taking enough of his money is welcome to make a donation.

Inwardly, folks like Matt and his compadres feeeel a deep-seated guilt for being successful..

One way they attempt to assauge the guilt and sharing the blame for being so successful is by re-appropriating ‘OPM’ and donating theirs to noble causes like global warming and hunger while they party with dictators and dickheads...

Classic DemocRat the last 100 years.

Matt Damon’s payday per movie is around 27 million dollars. If he were taxed 90% of that he’d pay to the government $24,300,000, leaving him with $2,700,000 to live on. He doesn’t have a problem with this because the number of movies he stars in permits him to live quite comfortably. The average American, however, if faced with losing 90% of their income to the government, doesn’t have the ability to simply go out and earn more by working more.

Already exists. It's called "Voluntary Contributions To Retire The National Debt". Just make out your check to the US Treasury and send it in, they'll take it. I challenge liberals to do this all the time when they start their "more taxes" jive. The fact that they don't do it exposes their hypocrisy.

None of the suggested tax increases would hurt these folks that much. Let’s see how Mr. Damon would react if the govt were to put in a truly progressive tax. One that would put folks such as himself up it an 80 - 90% bracket.

Are you referring to Matt Damon or Ronald Reagan?

Matt Damon’s mommy is a professor, and Damon has several “Nothing” diplomas that confer that he was good enough to pass a liberal arts course.
Which means he’s smart enough to lock wits with a slime mold.

A: He is NOT a great actor, IMO. A GREAT actor is one who convinces the viewer, so completely, that he IS the character being portrayed, and NOT the dumbass, anti-American, knee pad wearing, mouth piece for a Socialist pretender in office.

B: Learning 4 syllable words from a Mother who is an educator and attending less than 5 months at Harvard does not qualify one as a judge of National, or International, Economics, Foreign Policy, or even Sidewalk Safety.

Matty: STFU and count your millions that you refuse to use to help our economy or job situation.

Does Damon still pay MA income tax?

If so, he can opt to pay the higher MA income tax rate (5.85% vs. 5.3%).

Wake me when he does...

He was raised by a teacher.

The man has a good heart, and seems to be reasonably intelligent, but he hasn’t thought things through.

One thing he doesn’t seem to grasp is the inefficiency of government. If the government takes $1M from Mr. Damon, after the bureaucracy and corruption overhead, it would be amazing if $100k was spent to help someone.

He’s a good actor, and probably a nice fellow, just a bit confused.
