Minnesota Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann released a letter Wednesday from the House Attending Physicians office, confirming that Bachmann suffers infrequently from migraines with aura, and that she can control them well with the use of sumatriptan and odansetron, two commonly used therapies to treat the chronic headaches.
The letters release comes after The Daily Caller reported late Monday that Bachmann has been hospitalized on at least three occasions due to the headaches. Three people who have worked closely with Bachmann told TheDC migraines regularly debilitate her for periods up to several days.
You have a well-established diagnosis of migraine headaches with aura for which you have had extensive evaluation by both my office and by a board certified consulting neurologist. Your evaluation has entailed detailed labwork and brain scans all of which are normal, the July 20 letter from Dr. Brian Monahan says.
You are overall in good general health, Monahan adds.

She probably should have, but her message has been taken over by “New Tone” Rollins.
“... using a medication designed to treat a chronic condition for a condition tht is termed infrequent”
It really isn’t any different than someone using daily medication to control gout, high blood pressure, etc... The medicine tends to build up in one’s system and keeps it at bay or limited. A lot of medications have to build up in one’s system rather than taking it at the onset. Just a thought.
If she were liberal this would be played in the press as women should identify and sympathize with her since this is a common malady. It would be used to humanize her, show she isn’t some elitist witch.
No good treatment, but sending conservative candidates money and seeing them elected seems to have a palliative effect.
Nope. The first one she’ll take at the onset of the migrane to constrict the swollen blood vessels. The other she’ll take at the onset of nausea, if any, to control it.
Theses two meds are no big deal and are not cause for any concern at all. They’re the migraine equivalent of taking an aspirin for a headache and pepto for indigestion.
I’d take a schizophrenic epileptic with Tourette’s over Obama.
Excuse me, but you should use the more PC term, elitist WICCAN....
I have a prescription for a chronic condition which infrequently flares. People also take aspirin or a prescription substitute for chronic conditions such as arthritis, allergies and numerous other unpredictable chronic conditions. I know more than one person who has recurring migraines and standing prescriptions for dealing with them. Michelle B will not be brought down by this puny attempt at scandal.
I would like to see Hussein’s medical and school records. Is he drug free? When did he stop taking the drugs mentioned in his book?
>>>Little birds tell me Romneys smear machine is behind this hit piece.
You don’t need no lil’ birdies when Tokyo Karl Rove is all over TV about it - he’s an establishment guy, so is Willard...
I guess he will have to try harder to find something on her...
Hey, Jonathon, why don’t you try getting Obama’s medical records and school transcripts. Good freaking luck.
I have the exact same aura. Very litle pain, sometimes a 10 minute nap is the cure. It started in my late teens but I didn’t know it was classified as a migrane until I was in my mid 40s.
Smear or no smear, this will do Bachmann in as a candidate. Dick Cheney didn’t get to pick his heart either.
“Id take a schizophrenic epileptic with Tourettes over Obama.”
Sure, but VP Biden is no prize.
“’Little birds tell me Romneys smear machine is behind this hit piece.’
You dont need no lil birdies when Tokyo Karl Rove is all over TV about it - hes an establishment guy, so is Willard...”
I hadn’t even though of Rove, but you are correct, of course.
Romney is simply disgusting.
Hey Michelle, try Zomeg it’s way better than immitrex and works every time. Then again everyone’s different with migraines. My like of her candidacy will rise in equal proportion to the false attacks she receives.
Palin 2012.
“Romney is simply disgusting.”
He is sneaky. We don’t need another sneaky slimy president. We’ve had more than our share of those.
Chronic Of long duration and slow progression. Illnesses that are chronic develop slowly over time, and do not end. Symptoms may be continual or intermittent, but the patient usually has the condition for life.

HA HA!
Good one Hoss.
