The Mythical "Good" Government Teacher Lives in the Land of Unicorns!
July 6, 2011 | wintertime

Posted on 07/06/2011 2:28:36 PM PDT by wintertime

The following applies to ALL government teachers in a GENERAL manner and is NOT NOT NOT directed at any individual here on Free Republic:

Haven't we read many times, here on Free Republic, that there are many "good" teachers in our government K-12 schools. Really? Is that so? Then how can the following be "good"?

Every day, ALL government teachers **willingly** go into government schools and **willingly** take a paycheck for teaching their students to think and reason godlessly. The government schools BY LAW are godlessly secular in their worldview. The children must learn to think and reason godlessly merely to cooperate in the classroom and do assignments.

No one is holding a gun to any government teacher's head as they work to undermine the parents and the child's faith.

Also...Let's go further. Again, how can the following be “good”?

**ALL** ( Yes! **every**!) government schools in this nation are socialist-funded, compulsory for all those whose parent's can't ransom them, and managed by the collectivist voting mob. Merely by attending children learn to be comfortable with taking money from their neighbor for a service their parents want for tuition-free. Well?...If government can give “free” school, why not a thousand other wants and needs.

Why on earth would any “good” teacher agree to uphold, establish, and run a system that teaches children to be comfortable with socialism, government compulsion, and submission to the voting collectivist mob? No one is holding a gun to their heads when they do this. No one is threatening them or their families with harm as they collect their paychecks.

The TSA airport searches and the coming Death Panels are not an accident. They are a result of generations of citizens being conditioned in government schools by government teachers ( who seem so sweet and love their cats) to placidly accept government compulsion.

Yes, some Christian and/or conservative teachers will say that they are trying to sneak in some Christian and/or conservative principles into their classroom. Well! They **are** teaching an important lesson. They are teaching children that Christians and conservatives are timid and SNEAKY!

Let's use an extreme example. The Nazi concentration camps.

Would a “good” German WILLINGLY agree to work in the Nazi concentration camps because he might sneak a few crumbs to the prisoners once in a while? Or... would the **truly** “good” German join the resistance and work his guts out to help as many prisoners to escape as possible, and strive bravely and valiantly to permanently close down the concentration camps?

So... The genuinely ***good** teachers are NOT working for the godless, socialist-funded, compulsory, and voter mob managed government schools. They are working their guts out to see they are completely closed down. And...They are doing their best politically and culturally to see that children have other alternatives. They are warning parents not to send their children into the government schools.

Please remember that when you meet dear Mrs. Smilely ( the teacher who loves her cat) in church or at the supermarket, that every working day she is establishing, supporting, and upholding government schools that teach children to think godlessly, to be comfortable with taking their neighbor's money for "free" stuff, and to submit meekly to the crushing heel of the collectivist voting mob. None of that can that be "good"!

Finally....There have NEVER been "good" government schools or "good" government teachers. From their inception in the mid-1800s to early 1900s, government K-12 schools have been socialist-funded, compulsory, and managed by the collectivist voting mob. Why should we be surprised that one or two generations later that we had Woodrow Wilson, the IRS, the federal reserve, unions, feminism, direct election of senators, and Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal?

Yes, the government schools, at first offered up a lukewarm and generic Protestantism. We know what Christ does with the lukewarm. He spits them out of His mouth! By my grandmother's day ( born 1894), the government schools were godlessly secular with a sprinkle of prayer in the morning.

Conclusion #1 : There is not now, and never has been even one good government school! There is not now, and never has been, a good government teacher!

Conclusion #2: If Islam takes hold in this nation, it is because government schools, like the Death Eaters, have sucked the souls out of our nation's children and their parents.

The above applies to ALL government teachers in a GENERAL manner and is NOT NOT NOT directed specifically at any individual here on Free Republic.

"The roots of this problem can be traced prior to Dewey"

Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and many of their supporters also pushed for education funded and administered by government.

"Thank you. The trolls are like swarms of mosquitos. I appreciate the support."

You're welcome. There's big money in it. They receive over $40,000 per year and benefits for elementary ed. in my area. Some quotes and sources follow in regards to politics. ...could have something to do with Bachmann's poll numbers going up fast.

Sarah Palin strove to provide extra, "early funding for [public] education" (Alaska State). And where did the money come from?

TRANSCRIPT: Sarah Palin's RNC Speech
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2074322/posts

My mom and dad both worked at the elementary school in our small town. And among the many things I owe them is a simple lesson that I’ve learned, that this is America, and every woman can walk through every door of opportunity...

So I signed up for the PTA because I wanted to make my kids’ public education even better...

This was the spirit that brought me to the governor’s office when I took on the old politics as usual in Juneau, when I stood up to the special interests, and the lobbyists, and the Big Oil companies, and the good-old boys...

When oil and gas prices went up dramatically and filled up the state treasury, I sent a large share of that revenue back where it belonged: directly to the people of Alaska. And despite fierce opposition from oil company lobbyists, who kind of liked things the way that they were, we broke their monopoly on power and resources. As governor, I insisted on competition and basic fairness to end their control of our state and return it to the people.

IMO, teaching should be a free market occupation.

Well....I bet there were a lot of Mrs. Smileys ( who loved their cats) working in the offices of the Nazi government regime, and managing those shoe boxes filled with Jewish names and addresses.

So in your eyes, being a school teacher is in some way equivocal to the wholesale slaughter of the Jews by the Nazi's? Let me be the first to say that is some kind of twisted.

Well....the Nazis merely killed the body.

Government schools teach the children to think and reason godlessly. The consequences for many poor souls are **eternal**.

You’re spouting incoherent ramblings with no data, no fact, no reason, and no point.

Ridiculous. Reread and try again.

It is refreshing to see a fellow educator of English amongst my brethren here at Free Republic.

I labor to educate my students to research both sides of every issue and make informed decisions on any topic presented them.

All American and religious holidays are promoted and examined as to purpose and truth behind the day(s). All respect and honor due our nation and its traditions are promoted through my selection of presentation of curriculum, much as you have stated in your previous post.

Students are tasked to write and present research on the topic of Anthropogenic Global Warming, both arguments in agreement/disagreement, for one of their projects for the year. I do so to counteract another teacher's science lesson which claims that AGW is scientific fact.

Regardless of what others believe, I KNOW I am making a difference, albeit small, in at least the lives of the students charged to my care.

Well, they are whether you like it or not.

They are teaching that God does not exist, and that those that do not accept that lie are disfunctional.

No, it really doesn’t, and I have read enough of your posts over the years to know that you are intelligent enough to know the difference. Your taxes are apportioned exactly like everyone else’s are, and failing to acknowledge that is a major contribution to the problem.

No, I don't think it is. I'd shut down all government schools if I could, but I'm not going to live in a tent on the run in order to avoid kicking in my $1,500 to the county coffers.

Live on the run?

For trying to inform your neighbors of the failings of the school system?

I thought you were talking about not paying taxes.

My neighbors generally inform me about the failings of the public school system, concluding with, “But I could never homeschool, because (natter natter natter).” I point out the quite reasonable tuition at several local Christian schools.

No matter how conscientious the government teacher they cannot teach their subject within the framework of the child's religion. The scriptures of the family's religion, or the specific teachings of their religious leaders cannot be used to emphasize the moral and ethical dilemmas that are found in all fiction.

Think about this. Could a government teacher used the writings of the Pope or any of the Mormon prophets in his class? Could he specifically use the scriptures?

What the child is exposed to, even in the best of classes, is an amorphous, generic, and lukewarm goodness. What does Christ do with the lukewarm? He spits them out of His mouth! What do morally amorphous and generically lukewarm schools teach? It teaches the child to be lukewarm and generic about his religious beliefs.

Can parents undo the damage. Yes, many do. But....Why should they have to undo anything? Why should they be put in the position of having to “unestablish” the government establishment of the religion of godless secularism? Why should the taxpayer be forced to pay for the establishment of the government religion of godless secular humanism?

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Research both sides of every issue? Really?

So?....Can there really be “both sides” to human sacrifice and ripping the beating hearts of living victims? Can there be “both sides” to cannibalism? Can there be “both sides” to slavery and human trafficking or piracy? How about taking scissors shoving them into the brains of fully formed and mostly born infants seconds before their first breath? How about scrambling the brain matter and sucking the gelatinous mass into surgical suction jars?

Really? How can there be “both sides” to that?

Hm? Is that served with cookies and milk?
