The key to the ultimate effectiveness of a documentary like The Undefeated is more than just how many people see it or even who those people are. Certainly that matters to some degree, but so does how the very existence of the documentary changes the national political conversation. Naysayers of the The Undefeated dismiss the films impact by telling us that only Palinistas are going to bother to buy tickets. In other words, since the film preaches to the choir there will be no new converts. Intentionally or not, thats a fairly simplistic declaration that doesnt take into account how the film will impact the political news narrative an impact thats already apparent to anyone paying attention.
Thanks to the overwhelming publicity the film has already generated (along with the fortuitous combination of the email dump), for the first time since Palin arrived on the national scene her impressive record as the Chief Executive of Alaska is finally getting some serious media attention. Today in the Daily Caller, Rick Manning has an excellent piece that touches on this very subject. In an editorial titled Will the New Palin Movie Sway Voters?, he closes with this:
Right now, most Americans are desperate for a leader who will be unfazed by the entrenched big-government culture that pervades D.C. regardless of which political party is in charge.
Most Americans look at the crowd of Republican candidates for the presidency and yearn for someone with guts, charisma and accomplishments.

I’m not trying to sway anyone. I’m just trying to learn how Palin supporters can deal with this fact. So far they have not done so and if we nominate her against Obama this issue will be used over and over again. And I’m afraid of lawsuits is not an answer.
Agreed on her getting so much accomplished. Example, she got that pipeline thing finally moving after how many years (10 or 15?) of a stalemate?
Reminds me of my old man’s saying when we would knock off early to see a ball game once in ahwile. “We work so hard it doesn’t take all day to put in 8-hours worth of work!” Of course he was self-employed! But - we did get the work done.
I think I read an interview where the producer of the film said the “quitter” label would be minimized based on the film. Perhaps. Put it is so easy for folks to just end any discussion with - “Yeah - but she still QUIT, didn’t she!”
With the tools and laws at her disposal as President, her hands will not be tied in dealing with them, as they were in dealing with frivolous, hostile, destructive nuisance lawsuits as Governor.
Cheers!
We’ve been over this at least a thousand times. I refuse to do it again.
Are you a queen troll-to-be? We just offered all that she accomplished in office and you still ignore it with your talk points and it’s so obvious that you have no clue in the first place so you just keep on blabbering on and on.
But she didn't leave the job 'undone'. Her Lt. Governor, who ran with her, and shared her views on issues, picked right up where she left off.
It's like if a contractor builds half the house, then, because he's continually being harassed by nuisance lawsuits that threaten to bankrupt him, leaves the job to another well respected builder, who he knows will finish the job.
She better come up with an answer. So far she hasn’t.
I really don’t think she will run because she has not been able to address this issue. The majority of Americans won’t vote for a quitter.
That's why I just "shortcut" 'em with pics, nowadays. It's not as if tghey're even pretending to be listening, after all.
We know. You’re VERY concerned.
So by your standard an executive who is not president for life or governor for life does not have an excellent record. No political job is ever over unless you are the last president/governor before a revolution.
So rather than sloganeering, the issues are:
1. Was Governor Palin an effective governor while in office.
2. Did her leaving in any way leave the job any more undone than had she left a year and change later?
My view is the answers are yes and no. You can certainly have an opposing view, but the builder analogy is flawed as these jobs are never finished.
If nominated she will have to spend the entire fall campaign explaining why she quit her job. That is not exactly the campaign I would want to see.
I’m not asking for life just 48 months.
“Why are you on this thread?”
Typing class. My mom told me once that when they used to have typing class, they had to type “Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country” over and over and over.
That’s what Patrick is doing only the words are different. Went back and looked at his earlier Palin posts. They haven’t hardly changed a bit for months and months.
Tell you what: You post your CV/resume here, sans name and contact information, and we’ll see how successful you’ve been in life as compared to Governor Sarah Palin.
Her poll numbers are low because idiots listen to the MSM rather than check facts.
That bodes poorly on the MSM and YOU.
Not Sarah Palin
There has been so much media damage I don’t know if she could win an election, but she sure as hell is still shaping the debate.
[I guess every governor should walk away from their job so they too can have an impressive record. That statement is laughable.]
One word - Romneycare!
Is that the kind of busybody record you’d prefer?
Why did Obozo quit his job?
obozo had a job? Dang. I missed it.
Wonderful post, Fiddlstix! It presents her accomplishments in a format that even a mor... oh, wait a minute...
{{sarcastic chuckle}}
Yes, it’s easy to say that someone quit their job, but the facts are out there on what happen, but Patrick1 and others refuses to even look into it and see that when the Democrat Party gets someone to sue you as governor for wearing a jacket outside while watching your husband racing and that there was nothing she could do in preventing them from making her paying legal counsel to defend this frivolous suit that no one is going to stand there and allow evil to destroy the state and her administration just to get at her.
This idiot doesn’t even know that Obama’s own lawfirm that defends him Perkins-Cole was the firm that came out against Palin trying to set up a legal defense fund!! No republican can SUE Obama for doing his job right now for any reason, we have Congress and solicitor generals able to investigate wrong doing by the President without him paying out of his pocket everytime
