The key to the ultimate effectiveness of a documentary like The Undefeated is more than just how many people see it or even who those people are. Certainly that matters to some degree, but so does how the very existence of the documentary changes the national political conversation. Naysayers of the The Undefeated dismiss the films impact by telling us that only Palinistas are going to bother to buy tickets. In other words, since the film preaches to the choir there will be no new converts. Intentionally or not, thats a fairly simplistic declaration that doesnt take into account how the film will impact the political news narrative an impact thats already apparent to anyone paying attention.
Thanks to the overwhelming publicity the film has already generated (along with the fortuitous combination of the email dump), for the first time since Palin arrived on the national scene her impressive record as the Chief Executive of Alaska is finally getting some serious media attention. Today in the Daily Caller, Rick Manning has an excellent piece that touches on this very subject. In an editorial titled Will the New Palin Movie Sway Voters?, he closes with this:
Right now, most Americans are desperate for a leader who will be unfazed by the entrenched big-government culture that pervades D.C. regardless of which political party is in charge.
Most Americans look at the crowd of Republican candidates for the presidency and yearn for someone with guts, charisma and accomplishments.

You CAN’T................not “can”, vis-a-vis a president.
I don’t know how to sugar coat it.
The “Quitter” is shaping the debate
What do you mean you’re not sure she can govern? Have a look at this and don’t tell me she can’t govern:
Governor Sarah Palins Accomplishments that garnished her a whopping 92% approval rating:
Energy Independence, Development, and Environmental Stewardship
*Governor Palins cornerstone accomplishment is AGIA (Alaska Gasline Inducement Act). During the Palin administration, TransCanada and Exxon formed an alliance to build a natural gas pipeline from Alaska to the Lower 48. Under Governor Palins governance, the project was expanded and revised from what previous governors had proposed with an open policy process for the Alaskan people. More progress was made on this effort than in the previous 30 years. This is the largest private sector infrastructure project in North American history and helps put us on the path to energy independence.
*Governor Palins administration opened up drilling for oil and natural gas at Pt. Thompson for the first time in decades.
*Governor Palin created the Alaskas Petroleum Integrity Office to oversee all aspects of energy development and to make sure oilfield equipment was safe to operate and a Climate Change Subcabinet to comprehensively and honestly evaluate climate change.
Fiscal Conservatism
*Governor Palin reduced earmark requests for the state of Alaska by 80% during her administration, requesting only earmarks that would benefit the country as a whole.
* Governor Palin reduced spending in her budget for Fiscal Year 2010 by more than one billion dollars from the previous governors Fiscal Year 2007 budget, a 9.5% real reduction in spending. Her FY2010 budget was $10.57 billion compared to Governor Murkowskis FY2007 budget of nearly $11.7 billion. At the same time, she fulfilled her campaign promise to forward fund education, allowing districts greater flexibility and predictability in their planning.
*Governor Palin opposed much of the “stimulus”, wanting only to accept 55% of the money allocated to Alaska, specifically only dollars dedicated to infrastructure [projects. Although the Alaskan legislature ultimately overturned her veto, she stood firm on her commitment to help Alaska to become more self-sufficient while not adding to not add to the skyrocketing national debt.
* Governor Palin invested $5 billion in state savings.
Walking the Walk on Fiscal Responsibility
*Governor Palin sold the private jet purchased by the previous governor. She state it was an unnecessary financial burden on the state and was unable to land on many of the states landing strips.
* To cut costs that would be incurred by continuing to use a personal driver like previous governors, the governor drove herself from Wasilla to her office in Anchorage. She also dismissed the governors personal chef stationed in Juneau, Alaskas capital.
* Governor Palin accepted less state per diem for herself and her family than her predecessors even though she had a larger family.
10th Amendment Advocacy/Promotion of State Constitution
*Showing that she is a strong supporter of the 10th amendment, Governor Palin advocated for the sovereignty of the state of Alaska.
*Governor Palins administration sued the federal government for placing the polar bear on the endangered species list, as this restriction affected energy development which would increase energy costs.
*A Constitutionalist, Governor Palin signed Alaskas Clear and Equitable Share (ACES) bill into law. The Alaska constitution states that the Alaskan people own the oil and other resources. This law ensures that the “owners”, the people of Alaska, receive a clear and equitable share of oil profits.
National Defense/Veterans
*Governor Palin supported ground-based missile defense Ft Greely and other Alaskan Bases around to protect America from Americas enemies. She criticized the Obama administration for cuts that they made to this national defense system.
*Governor Palin, with Senators Murkowski and Begich, fought for retirement benefits from the federal government that were due to the Alaska Territorial Guard members who fought during World War II. These benefits were eventually rewarded to these veterans by the federal government.

Sanctity and Dignity of All Life

Positions Held while Governor

She was elected by her peers to serve as president of the Alaska Conference of Mayors. In this role, she worked with local, state and federal officials to promote solutions to the needs of Alaskas communities.

Sarah Palin was Commander of the Alaska National Guard. Alaska is the first line of defense in our missile interceptor defense system. The 49th Missile Defense Battalion of the Alaska National Guard is the first line of defense unit that protects the entire nation from ballistic missile attacks. Its on permanent active duty, unlike other Guard units in the United States. As governor of Alaska, Palin was briefed on highly classified military issues, homeland security, and counterterrorism daily.
Governor Palin was the commander in chief of the Alaska State Defense Force (ASDF), a federally recognized militia incorporated into Homeland Security’s counterterrorism plans.
Don’t you think the Islamists and the Communists will be tougher to deal with than a lawsuit?
You do realaize, don’t you, that Palin didn’t book Kate and her crazy kids on her show, anymore than “SAY YES TO THE DRESS” requested Kate and/or the Duggars? It’s what TLC does.........often stick one show with people from another on their network.
No, but I bet that YOU do, for some inexplicable reason.
Imagine what she could have done if she hadn’t quit.
You can’t be a great executive only doing half a job. I don’t care how many jets you sell.
VP is mostly a ceremonial role.
She has proven that she has more than that since Biden hit the scene.
That Joe Biden... Whoo what a fireball
I Don’t know about your poster...but “we’re Clear” smacks on scientology mumbo-jumbo.
Half a house...like half an argument?
If she had stayed in office what could she have accomplished while under the barrage of those false frivolous ethics claims...all of which failed. She would have been going bankrupt, spinning her wheels fighting off whether or not it was ok to wear a jacket with a logo, etc. She wouldn't have been able to have a huge effect on the national elections the way she did by campaigning and supporting the Tea Party candidates.
So, stay in office, go bankrupt and accept the fate as prescribed by Andrea McLeod etc. of the RAT Party? Or dodge that bullet and change the national elections? Which one do you really think was better? Which course of action do you think the rats wanted her to take???
Moron.
Lunacy!
If you did your homework instead of sticking to the lib line .. the superficial definition they use .. instead of the truth of the countless frivolous lawsuits for personal attacks of her and her family, the exhorbitant amount of time and dollars being expended by the state and their employess to comply with all these partisan complaints and requests for records, receipts, every manner of transcript, etc. etc. ... to the near paralysis of state employees even functioning in their jobs,
then maybe .. just MAYBE .. you’d find a clue.
Why are you on this thread?
I laugh nowadays when I read such lazy, piffy comments pretending to be clever. Do you really think that you are swaying anyone currently pro-Palin (or at least willing to see her compete for the nomination) by your angry balderdash? I'd say your snipes produce the very opposite effect thus increasing the very "problem" you want relieved.
All that Sarah Palin accomplish as Governor of Alaska is public record and knowledge, obviously you are ignorant of what she did up there in tackling the corruption and tactics of the government and the Oil industry and bringing in a surplus for the State or you would have tried to debunked it or at least tried to downplay it for you talking points discussion.
You have yet to pinpoint what she didn’t do like cutting government, cutting earmarks that came across her desk, reform the tax code for Big Oil that helped them and the State, reformed ethics and accountability, a surplus in funds.....etc - put up or shutup!
So when the liberals bring this up over and over again, Palin will say what? They sued me out of office?
Do you think that the American people will buy that? Is there not a reason her poll numbers are so bad?
