Trump: Palin wants me to run
By Laura Donovan - The Daily Caller

While catching up over pizza slices in Times Square, former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin advised billionaire Donald Trump to “get back” in the presidential races, according to the “Celebrity Apprentice” host.

During a Wednesday “Fox and Friends” interview, Trump told host Gretchen Carlson that he and Palin discussed a myriad of topics.

“Did she try to encourage you to get back in the race because you were, in fact, a couple weeks ago saying you were sticking with Celebrity Apprentice, instead?” asked Carlson.

“Well, she’d love me to get back,” Trump responded. “You know, I had great poll numbers.”

But when host Steve Doocy inquired about Trump and Palin “teaming up in some fashion,” the real estate powerhouse said this particular subject was not brought up.

“We really did not [talk about that]. We talked about lots of things. We did not talk about that,” Trump said.

Several weeks ago, Trump announced that he would not seek 2012 presidency but instead stick with his show.

“I maintain the strong conviction that if I were to run, I would be able to win the primary and ultimately, the general election,” Trump said in a statement last month. “I have spent the past several months unofficially campaigning and recognize that running for public office cannot be done half heartedly. Ultimately, however, business is my greatest passion and I am not ready to leave the private sector.”

Agreed. Trump loves nothing more than stroking his own ego.

Mr. Trump had flashed his presidential aspirations before: in 1988 (as a Democrat) and in 1999 (as a Reform Party candidate). In the latter campaign, he had proposed imposing a one-time 14.25 percent tax on the net worth of individuals and trusts worth $10 million or more, and ran as a supporter of abortion rights, positions he dropped in 2011.
New York Times

My apologies. He was thinking about running as a democrat in 1988 and Reform Party in 2000. Still a liberal.

Trump will not run because he will have to disclose all his income. He gets paid to broker deals and possibly even a little bit of the action. I suspect his personal income is far less than most people think.

Trump even tried to sue somebody a few years back for low balling the deal maker’s monetary worth. I don’t think it went anywhere.

Perhaps Trump could make an entertaining VP, but I think whoever the conservative pres. is (assuming he/she wins) will need more than a foul mouth and self-inflated ego watching his/her back.

Trump just said on Fox he night run third party in a year. Left the door open to running enough to play spoiler. He likes Palin, but is unsure she could win nomination. Disliking the Republican establishment over how they attacked him.

Last thing we need is Trump running 3rd party or Independent. But, if we get a RINO, I know the Tea party will put someone up. Others will want it. You wait and see, if all goes wrong. It happened in the Governors race in Colorado. So I think it is pure BS that the tea party wouldn’t run someone else if say a Romney or whomever won the GOP nomination.

Sarah Palin must see something good in Trump to go through the trouble of spending so much time with him in NY. I have to trust her instincts.

Trump did not get rich by spreading the wealth, that’s for sure. So he is not a socialist.

I don’t believe much of what Romney says; I do believe Trump when he speaks of being pro-life. I saw his CBN interview (w/David Brody). He spoke of his conversion in profound terms. Trump contributes $ to many liberals. He’s in an ultra-liberal state and, by most indications, a very savvy businessman. Just my take on it. As far as his support for Hillary—— Heck, I was about to go for her in ‘08, until McCain aligned himself with Palin in Sept. And yes, I am a conservative. Anyway, my main point to you in my comment about Trump is that he’s no longer pro-abortion.

Trump can be Ambassador to Mongolia or maybe Ambassador to Pluto.

Trump will never consent to working for someone else.
