How do you save up food stamps? There is no reason for this kind of spending on the public's dime! I work my butt off and can't afford to eat like that AND fulfill my financial obligations...including paying my taxes to support freeloaders like this!

You would assume that, but in reality the EBT program SUPPLEMENTS other sources of income (like cash payments). So it gives them a higher food budget and allows them to afford the very best (at our expense) while saving their cash for things like ordinary food, beer, pet food, cigarettes and lotto tickets. Personally if anyone on EBT has a pet (other than rats, ants, mice or cockroaches) this should be enough to disqualify them from the program.
It isn't like most of them would starve if we weren't paying for their life style. They would have to cut back on their immediate gratifications. (like beer, pot, cigarettes and scratch off tickets)

He bought a dump near “the projects’ and rented it to welfare queens.
The FIRST FOUR IN A ROW paid their deposit and first months rent, and then never paid another cent.
It would take him 3 months to get rid of them, so generally it was 6 months between rent for this place.
Then he thought he was smart and would go to the place on the first of the month and GET the rent from the welfare check as it arrived in the mail.
THE FIRST FOUR TENANTS WERE STADING IN LINE WAITING FOR THE MAILMAN - THEY WERE STILL COLLECTING WELFARE RENT FOR HIS PLACE AT THE SAME ADDRESS.
He reported them all, and they all called him and gave him death threats - ALL FOUR of them

This purchase was made in Wisconsin, probably using the Wisconsin QUEST card.
Benefits are fixed, and distributed monthly. Unused funds are accrued on the account, and can be used later. If funds run out before the end of the month, it appears that the user is SOL.
All that said .... if we accept for the sake of argument that the funds are there, available for use, and a fixed amount, why should we care what they're used for? If bozo buys lobster and runs out of money after 2 weeks, he's stupid, but the taxpayers are out no more or less than if he was more responsible and ran out of money after buying a month's worth of cheap food.
This is fun to scream about, but in reality does it makes any difference to the taxpayers of Wisconsin what these folks do with their welfare money?
Nope.
I have had enough of this crap....build large mobile home parks, GIVE the welfare recipients a home, pay for the heat, electricity and water. Put a government store in that sells surplus dairy, beef, poultry and produce. They get a roof over thier heads, food in their belly, and the chilin get to take the bus to school.......probably save a fortune, and the savings can be put back into the socialist security fund, where they were stolen from in the first place....
That's one reason why I would favor fingerprinting applicants and running matches against existing welfare clients.
That would be fraud in my state; household income would disqualify. And they do prosecute.
... and put them in work gangs to earn their keep doing menial labor.
OTOH, your idea was pretty much already tried in places like Chicago's Cabrini Green, or Houston's Allen Parkway Village, and the result was some of the the scariest damned Projects the world has ever known.
When I was living in my car in Minneapolis, while unwilling to personally collect food stamps I would pay 50 cents on the dollar for food stamps from other people, at least I ate well.
And we were not allowed even so much as a taste.

The first time I ever see some fool driving a Chevy Volt; I’m gonna go up to him and ask him if he’d mind giving me a ride to the store. After all, MY tax dollars were used in buying that car. Why shouldn’t I get some benefit from it?
