Here are just a few of the contradictions which have come out in the last week or so regarding Osama bin Ladens death.
One list of such discrepancies which I used to help write the above list (there are others lists out on the web, too) is below:
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/world/americas/white-house-struggles-to-get-story-right-on-osama-raid/article2008878/print/
Why is this important?
Well, for political points, it shows the amount of disarray within the Obama White House. Surely, if Obama were as on the ball as he would have us believe, there would have been consistent messaging from the get-go, based on whichever chosen spin had been selected before the raid even began.
But theres another point -- the excuses made by the Obama White House about fog of war or lapse in communications or somesuch. Thats really odd, given that one of the things argued about in the Patriot Act was the ability to do foreign wiretaps or signals interception requiring FAST approval for action, rather than going through the laborious time-consuming conventional process. If we can detect enemy communications in something that close to real time, are they saying we cant even communicate with our OWN troops on our OWN equipment rapidly? Balderdash.
So the question is, whats going on behind the scenes here?
In order to answer this, one must consider all of the possible stakeholders to such an action.
The problem is that those of us on the outside simply dont KNOW for sure the true motivations of each of the groups (listed for convenience) in the list above. Not only that, but within each group, there may be factions arguing among themselves.
Obama might be torn between standing with the Muslims as the chestnut goes (yes, I know it wasnt an exact quote, but its whats stuck in the public craw) and helping his re-election; or trying to shore up his appearance as tough on foreign policy; or trying to distract from the birth certificate.
His advisors run the gamut from Valerie Jarrett (who advised against the mission) to Panetta (who reportedly organized it in secret and had it ready to go, unbeknownst to the President); and of course, the military, who generally isnt happy about the changes instituted by Obama, and Hillary, the Secretary of State, who might still be a little miffed that Obama took away *her* rightful place as President, and in the meantime has to help sweep up the diplomatic mess.
Al Qaeda is a wild card, depending on how compartmentalized they are, how much they are working with Pakistan, and how much control has devolved from bin Laden.
Pakistan is likewise a mixed bag. Are there different factions who approve of Al Qaeda, and others who are pro-Western? Has the US known unofficially all along that bin Laden has been holed up in Pakistan, and part of the US foreign aid has been to keep him there, where we can keep an eye on him and intercept his commands? And of course, the American public, who *loves* the fact that we got Osama (Michael Moore and Noam Chomsky excepted, of course); but who, for some obscure reason, is not crediting Obama with the kill, instead favoring the men who did the deed.
So, since all of these factors come into play, and each of the different sets of actors is trying to spin the events for the benefit of their own particular intended audience...
is it any wonder that they news coming out about the raid is fragmented and contradictory?
(Interestingly enough, one can draw an object lesson from the bin Laden aftermath, which is applicable to Christian apologetics. And no, its not just that some bearded religious nut got offed, and now we cant find the body.)
Compare and contrast to the discrepancies in the Easter account in the four gospels. Matthew says that Mary Magdalene and the other Mary first saw Jesus (Matthew 28:1-9). Mark says Mary Magdalene (16:9 -- although even here, there is a dispute whether the earliest copies of the texts contain this verse). Luke mentions Cleopas and another disciple on the Emmaus road (24:13-18) ... although they do remark that some of the women were at the tomb that morning. John 20:10-14 mentions Mary Magdalene at the tomb.
For the tomb itself, Matthew says Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were at the tomb first (as above); Mark says Mary Magdalene, Mary the Mother of James, and Salome were there first (Mark 16:1), Luke names Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, Joanna, and others (Luke 24:10), and John (20:1) mentions only Mary Magdalene.
Similarly, the Gospels differ in whether it was a young man dressed in a white robe or an angel of the Lord or two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning or two angels in white.
Why is this so important, and what can we learn from it?
One breed of atheists likes to use such discrepancies in the Easter stories as disposative proof to their minds, that not only did Easter never happen, but that, given the lack of external corroborating sources, that most probably, Jesus never existed either.
Recall that the time of Jesus was one of mixed oral and written traditions, without printing presses or newspapers, without email or thumb drives, or satellite communications, or cameras, or cell phones. Oh, and the accounts were compiled over years from eyewitnesses after a matter of years, some of whom were geographically separated before rapid regional or international travel.
Therefore, goes the argument, is it any wonder a number of conflicting legends arose, before a gullible, all-too-willing audience, when a mere hint of modern investigative techniques and use of technology would quickly have debunked the whole thing?
But they are forgetting a couple of things. First -- the Resurrection was apparently unexpected, even by those who reported it (think of Mary Magdalenes supposing Jesus to be the gardener; the Emmaus road; even good old doubting Thomas).
Second--having ALL of these technological items present, and in use, did not prevent the accounts of the attack on bin Laden (in the most politically free and open society, with the highest journalistic standards, and the most connectivity) from screwing up one of the biggest, most important (and by journalists and the US public, eagerly awaited) stories in years.
I guess, then, by the atheists standards, Jesus is dead (or never existed), but bin Laden is still alive.
They have taken away my terrorist, and we do not know where they have buried him at sea. -- Obama 20:12

Osama: 72 virgins
Obama: 72 versions
Cheers!
*PING*
Everyone seems to have only partial information.
For instance, it is not 72 virgins specified in the Muslim beliefs.
It is 100 virgins. 72 are female, 28 are male.
The inmates are not only in charge of the assylum, they’re in charge of the whole nation!
May God have mercy on us.

I can imagine.

. . . . See list in article.
Thanks, grey_whiskers.
And the whole OBL assassination is a grift using a surgically altered double, now a martyr. Thats why the body was deep sixed by Obama operatives ,into the Arabian Sea before it was even cold.(The generally accepted procedure would have been to hand the body over to our NATO allies for independent , redundant, forensic verification of OBLs death.)
OBL is somewhere in a remote mansion in the Hindu Kush kicking back, not a care in the world.
Purpose:
1)To allow Obama to claim victory and remove all US troops from the middle East.
2) To help recover Obamas fading poll numbers and get patriotic America to kill itself by supporting Obama.Thats why Obama is making all the adulatory, Hail Ceaser rounds
and keeping the assasination meme alive. Its part of the Obama campaign.
3) To cover the situation in Libya, Obama wants Sub-Saharam Africa to fll to the Muslim Brotherhood, which is why former ally Qadaffi must go. Its the paradox of sharia democracy , you see.
Impossible you say? No. Obama has Muslim broptherhood advisors on his White Hut staff, and a whole isolated back channel hierarchy of communications with Pakistan Intel. So many meetings on the golf course.
ex-CIA Agent Reveals: Muslim Brotherhood has infiltrated Obama Administration
Obama has a blank check to do his will, or so he thinks. He is invincable becuase any true opposition would be called......”Rascist?” What a laugh. Obama MUST go.
Obama and his gang wouldn’t know the truth if it mule kicked them in the face. See the “birth certificate” for further details.
Thanks grey_whiskers. Hey, at worst, you’re making some birds very happy. ;’)
