Im not celebrating Cinco de Mayo today because there is nothing to honor in the memory of Mexico Independence. Mexico is attempting so hard to become dependent on the United States that it has became a laughingstock and shame among nations. Cinco de Mayo commemorates the victory of the Mexican militia over the French army at the Battle of Puebla in 1862.
I will not be celebrating the day because there is no longer any Mexican national unity, there is no longer any Mexican national pride, and there is no longer any bravery among Mexicans. There is only the conspiracy by the Mexican government to subvert U.S. law so that the government of Mexico and the people of Mexico are dependent on the United States of America. There is nothing to celebrate.

Cinco de what?
Very good!
I celebrated Cinco de Quatro yesterday.
No, you're celebrating "pimp your blog" day.
Again.
Mexico doesn’t “celebrate” the 5th of May. It is not an official holiday there. Even if it were, I don’t live in Mexico to begin with.
So.
I don’t give a rip.
er.. maybe it was Quatro de Mayo... ;)
What would Free Republic do without you HG?
We’d all be unprotected from the “blog pimps” and blindly click their links...
oh, the horror!
>>>I celebrated Cinco de Quatro yesterday.
Yesterday was Star Wars Day. “May the Fourth” be with you.
No, it was Star Wars day. May the 4th be with you.
Offer them freebies, why wouldn't they become dependent on us?
Hmmmm ... the force is strong in this one. He beat me to it.
I don't always celebrate Cinco de Mayo, but when I do, it's because I'm a beer company shill.
OK I’ve filled my sink full of mayo, what now?
Yes, this blog is a horror.
Five trackers/beacons, 1 adware and _41_ cookies.
I was in Mexico in 2000 when I thought how cool to be here for Cinco de Mayo. Well they don’t even celebrate this day. I was bummed out. This is pretty much an American celebration. Basically a chance to party with Coronas and Mexican food.
You know, if W had made such an embarrassing gaffe, more people than just a few FReepers would know exactly what you're talking about.
Pimpo de Mayo ping.
Been to Los Angeles lately?
Seriously, I believe that "Stinko de Mayo" is the beer industry's creation to sell more booze, much as St. Patrick's Day has become.
A military victory over the French? That just NEVER happens (/sarc)
It is a brilliant capitalistic idea. How smart are these beer companies. They make a ton of money from Americans.
