Again.

Mexico doesn’t “celebrate” the 5th of May. It is not an official holiday there. Even if it were, I don’t live in Mexico to begin with.
So.
I don’t give a rip.

There is only the conspiracy by the Mexican government to subvert U.S. law so that the government of Mexico and the people of Mexico are dependent on the United States of America.Offer them freebies, why wouldn't they become dependent on us?

Besides, as a holiday it is largely the invention of a couple the beer companies that bottle Corona and Dos Equis.

I don't always celebrate Cinco de Mayo, but when I do, it's because I'm a beer company shill.

OK I’ve filled my sink full of mayo, what now?

I was in Mexico in 2000 when I thought how cool to be here for Cinco de Mayo. Well they don’t even celebrate this day. I was bummed out. This is pretty much an American celebration. Basically a chance to party with Coronas and Mexican food.

I will not be celebrating the day because there is no longer any Mexican national unity Been to Los Angeles lately?
Seriously, I believe that "Stinko de Mayo" is the beer industry's creation to sell more booze, much as St. Patrick's Day has become.
A military victory over the French? That just NEVER happens (/sarc)

There is nothing to celebrate.
This is a Beer Holiday invented by the beer distributors.
Budweiser even had a new slogan out: 5 Of Busch. (?) Don't know what that means, might have to ask The Race about it.

It is a celebration promoted in the US by Tecate and Cuervo.

>>Im not celebrating Cinco de Mayo today because there is nothing to honor in the memory of Mexico Independence.
That’s good. Cinco de Mayo is not Mexican Independence Day.

Dang it - I had mayo on my turkey sandwich at lunch today.
My bad.
They don’t celebrate Jar of Mayo where I live.
They celebrate Ginko Baloba or Rocky Balboa or something like that.

Cinco de Mayo is not a celebration for Mexican Independence. It commemorates the Battle of Puebla. Mexican independence is sometime in September, I think.
I am an ESL teacher in SoCal who has 100% Hispanic students and everyone is correct. Cinco de Mayo is an American celebration of sorts for dancing, margaritas and enchiladas.

I am celebrating as well. There is no cause to celebrate for medico or with medico. If was from medico, there would be no cause to celebrate either, instead I would be ashamed of the medicans. medico <-— code name for mexico.
