Palin Strikes Back at Griffin: ‘She’s a has-been’(w/Video)
Three Fingers of Politics ^ | 03/06/11 | Stupac

Kathy Griffin has never been one to shy away from controversy, especially controversy that involves Sarah Palin, even going as far as making weight jokes about Palin’s daughter, Bristol. It was also recently announced that Griffin would be playing a “a middle-aged ‘recent Tea Party candidate and home-schooler — a Sarah Palin type” on the hit show “Glee.”

One can imagine that all this might be wearing on Palin and in an interview with Fox News’ Jeanine Pirro, Palin let lose saying:

“You know Kathy Griffin can do anything to me or say about me, because you know, she’s kind of this – she’s a fifty year old adult – boy really is what she is. She’s kind of a has-been comedian and she can do those things to me. I would just ask for respect of my children. As she had stated on CNN that her new year’s resolution was to destroy my 16 year old daughter – that takes it a little too far. Kathy pick on me, come up to Alaska and pick on me, but leave my kids alone.”

Like it or not, Bristol is a public figure and profits from it. Palin needs to rise above it.

I believe Griffin made the comment about Willow. Nonetheless, I wouldn't expect Palin to change.

Palin needs to learn to keep her mouth shut.

Even when she's asked a question on a national program?

The Left will attack regardless. Look what they did to Bush and his daughters.

Yes, they attacked GWB even though he did keep his mouth shut and pushed his New Tone crap. How did that work out for him?

If Palin wants to be a candidate, she needs to realize that far worse than this will be coming her way.

Virtually everything that Governor Palin has experienced has already happened. You can say the worst is over for her. She is the most vetted candidate in history.

If she has problems with something on this level, this early in the game, she will lose in the end.

Uh, she hasn't declared for anything yet.

Like her quitting as Governor, (The first time an Alaska Governor has ever quit the ofice.)

As opposed to remaining in office and ending up bankrupt and politically ruined. You wouldn't have supported her had she done that, so why continue to push this false narrative that her quitting is going to be an issue somehow when it clearly hasn't?

this legitimate question will be hammered at her over and over again, and her lame excuse will be broadcast, criticized and analyzed to new heights.

This "legitimate question" has been answered and nobody is talking about it now except those who have a vested interest in not seeing Palin run. If this "issue" would have hurt her, she wouldn't be the #1 conservative in the country right now.

I will guarantee that this won't be another “Obama’s Ears” moment for her either. They (The MSM) will only hit a higher gear and stomp the pedal to the floor.

All of the attacks on Palin has only made her stronger. They've thrown everything at her and she's still there giving speeches and endorsing candidates. So how is the attacks and her resignation hurting her?

Who would never step into the Pig Pen with the Pigs and roll in the mud along with them.

And, to the masses, it really doesn't matter who started the fight. The politician responding is always going to end up being damaged even if provoked.

In Bush's case, had he given the attacks on his daughters recognition by showing an emotional reaction like Palin did,

Bush's daughters were grown. Willow Palin is only 16. Bristol was not in the public spotlight then.
Are you really this dumb?

it would have achieved the desired effect that the attacks hoped to achieve in the first place.

You idiot. The Bush daughters were already tabloid material even though Bush himself didn't say anything about it.

Buy not reacting or giving the attacks validity Bush won the controversy before they even started. And the American Public gave him greater respect for his steady temperament.

No, they didn't - Bush's New Tone only made him weaker in the eyes of the leftists and they demoralized conservatives. You are truly living in an alternative universe.

That is what makes one Presidential. Able to resist emotional influence in one’s way of conducting one’s responsibility.

More "above the fray" and "civility" crap. Thanks for buying into the Left's premise about what conservatives need to do. You finally have a Republican who doesn't want to play the Left's game and all of a sudden you want to resort to the same failed reaching out crapola that has plagued Republicans for decades.

She’s kind of a has-been comedian and she can do those things to me.

That would mean she would have to have been someone first, Mrs. Palin.

Kathy Griffin is a 'never-was', on her way to 'never-will-be'.

And for those of you who say Palin should ignore this or "remain above the fray" - pound sand. Finally, a Republican who is fighting back.

And, look at what that has done to her poll numbers with independents.

Or do you think the poor poll numbers are a result of biased polls or attacks by the media?

As far as palin being hurt by resigning, the effects of that probably won't show until/if she declares her candidacy. The MSM has much in store for her if she does enter the race. I think they hope she does. They took her down quite handily in ‘08.

As far as her popularity, she is still has a long way to go if she hopes to win. Those are the simple facts. America is not hard core Conservative. If anything, they have slipped even further into the Liberal Socialist pit.

Recent polls are not looking real good. Of course this is way too early and the condition of the economy is still not clear, but the powers in Washington can postpone the inevitable until after Obama gets reelected. They can certainly keep the false numbers up to fool the ignorant public.

I'm sure you know this Demographic well yourself. All this anger and contempt among fellow Conservatives certainly won't do us much good either.

It's like you two have been living in cardboard boxes for the last two years.

Look what "they" did to Bush and his daughters? A big part of Bush's problem was that he failed, abandoned, his bully pulpit so thoroughly in the face of all kinds of media attacks, when he could have used the event to articulate a conservative principle. The strategy failed, but you still seem to advise rolling up in a ball and cowering because the left and the MSN will attack regardless.

Palin "needs to realize that far worse than this will becoming her way" --??? On what planet have you been residing for the past two years? You're schooling Palin on how nasty the MSM and pop entertainment culture can and will get? Do you also advise Thomas Sowell on economics? *rolls eyes*

"Like her quitting as Governor...." *face palm* One of the things I guess I instinctively like about some candidates -- Reagan, for one -- is that he never had to stoop to knowingly misrepresenting truth in order to advance his cause or conquer his opponent. It's a warning flag when you see someone indulge in it.

"They (The MSM) will only hit a higher gear and stomp the pedal to the floor." Wow. Really? You don't say? Imagine that!

Let's at least agree to leave extremities out of this discussion. We are not discussing murder or physical attacks here; Just political mud slinging and cheap personal attacks.

Understood, there are differences in the two examples, but the point still holds.

you can applaud her all you want - I never said it isn’t understandable to respond this way, but the Kathy Griffin pi$$ing war is a road to nowhere - it never ends and she isn’t worth it.

Kathy’s only claim to fame is mockery and baiting people. If she hasn’t been in the news for awhile, she says something schocking and insulting.

Thanks to Palin her gravy train keeps rolling.

This is what Griffin does - it’s how she makes a living.
Palin is helping her stay in the spotlight.

And, look at what that has done to her poll numbers with independents.

Inconclusive results based on biased polling data.

Or do you think the poor poll numbers are a result of biased polls or attacks by the media?

See 1st response.
