I am proud to be a federal employee. Let me repeat, proud to be one of millions across the nation who work as a public servant and who believes that public employees choose careers so they can be a vital part of the glue that holds this nation together.
Who are we? We are your neighbors, we are your friends, we are your fellow parishioners, and the people who sit with you watching the children and grandchildren at the ballpark or the basketball court.
We are not faceless and anonymous "others." We are people you have known all your lives.

Mark is a Parsite.
Balanced? Puff piece. Every federal employee swears the oath, as they enforce gun control laws or fine businesses for not having a wide-enough wheelchair ramp or having potties that use water in excess of federal mandates. They are the ones who ensure that gasoline contains ethanol, which is very bad for engines not made for it, to say nothing of food prices. They are the ones who kick down doors and shoot people in their beds, or stomp on cats, or burn “compounds” to the ground for political reasons. They are also the ones who have broad immunity from prosecution for wrongdoing, thanks to Sovereign Immunity.
We are the ones who make more money than you do to do are far easier job.
We are the ones you will be supporting with sweet pensions after just 20 years of easy work, so you must . keep working to free us up to travel in our 50 foot Winnebagos (Cost of fuel is steep you know.)
We are the ones who create the bureaucratic nightmares you face each time you try to solve a simple regulatory problem.
Etc. etc. etc.
The country is broke. We have no money. The government is trying to do things which it ought not to do -- unconstitutional things. We need to limit what government tries to do.
It's not personal. It's not emotional. It's mathematical. We cannot keep doing what we're doing. The money isn't there.
I'm sorry, but we're going to have to lay off a lot of government employees. Thank you for your service. Thank you for your hard work. Good bye.
“Public servants”
Oh come on. I wanna get me a fed job so I can never be fired.
Want to be a “public servant”? Join the Knights of Columbus. It pays nothing. You will serve many.
No hard feelings Mark. But we are not neighbors. You work for me.
I pay for your nice house, your holidays, the gold-plated insurance that you and all your dependents enjoy.
So I am your employer. Not the Fed. Me.
And I am not happy with the way things are going Mark. No, not at all.
I want proof that you’re pulling your weight. Also: if I find that you are paid far more than you are worth then I am going to fire you and hire someone else.
I’m glad we had this chat.
iatz
While your comments may accurately apply to the politicians of this nation and to their appointees at the executive levels of the agencies of government, I think your characterization is off base. As one who was not a desk bound paper pusher in the fed system, I am proud of what I accomplished.
“Ive got a federal pension plus over 650K in my federal government-run 401K and I manage everything myself.”
Ah....ok...now I get why you are pimping for federal parasites....
geez, I thought he was one of the guys in DC who answers the phone in Cambodian and can’t speak enough English to transfer you to somebody that can.
I thought he was one of the rude faceless bureaucrats that screws up mortgages and can’t answer basic tax questions.
I thought he was one of those guys who takes your land for eminent domain for some congressman’s buddy or won’t let you use the national forests.
I thought he was one of the guys who wants to register your guns.
I thought he was one of those guys who screwed up the Gulf Coast clean up and messes with the drilling permits. Or maybe it was the screw up with Katrina, or was it the Exxon Valdez? I forget because there were so many.
I thought he was part of the bloated government that takes 62.5 cents of every dollar I make so he can “spread” the wealth to fatassed but diverse obese poor people with cars and color TV’s who use their free cell phones and computers while smoking and boozing with food stamp purchased goodies.
Maybe I could afford better health care for myself if the the government did not rape my paycheck at virtual gunpoint every month so the government employee can retire at 55 with a fancy pension for the next 40 years.
So KMA!
Oh yeah, I KNOW they became federal employees in order to bless this country with their service. Riiiiiight.
“No, you are the sycophants that are draining this nation of its life-blood. You are worthless, blood-sucking bastards. Government employees suck balls.”
LOL. Now, now...I’m afraid this does not strike quite the conciliatory tone that our Dear Leader would like us to have in these troubled times....tsk, tsk...
In short, a sanctimonious 5th column, a parasitic tapeworm. If you don't think the majority of them would turn on the taxpayers and use naked, raw, force (not the happy puppy kind the IRS does now) to keep what they think is "theirs", you're deluded.
They are not “public” anything.
They are GOVERNMENT employees.
Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.
George Washington
Wealth is CAPITAL.
Government employees create no wealth. They DO serve a purpose, and that can be a beneficial purpose as well,
but they do so at a COST to the overall wealth of a nation. They do not add to that wealth by using resources and their God given talent to add value to those resources.
