I am not from the left coast but tried it when in AZ on business at the urging of my hosts. The Double-Double combo was awesome. Did not taste like fast food.
The reason those burgers are so awesome is that grill has been getting seasoned for a century!
Yom!
Love the coconut cream pie and the root beer as well.
The lettuce and tomato look anemic.
Yes indeed.
Has any one ever heard of Prexy’s - The burger with a college education? It started near Columbia University and expanded into a small chain in the ‘60’s with a Prexy’s on 86th Street near Lexington Avenue. They were served on a bun with chopped onions. If so, anyone know how they were made and what spices were used to give them their memorable taste?
Go to Miller’s Restaurant in Mocksville, NC and get the Cheeseburger all the way with pimento cheese. It is something special ...
Years ago there was this place called The Coach or Coaches in S. Charlotte and it made a fantastic burger.

It mentions not just burgers but lots of things you might never want to eat again.
Big Okie Shot:
"Four quarter-pound patties, four slices of cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, grilled onions, raw onions and mustard are all neatly arrayed in a bun to become Hank's masterpiece, the Big Okie burger."
Hank's should be put in jail for pandering to my addiction.
Here is a video of Hank's. WARNING ADULTS ONLY lots of sizzling hot juicy beef.
My goal in life is to spend a long evening with the off menu Okie Dokie. Six glorious patties with cheese.
Waylon even took his wife here for their 20th Wedding Anniversary:
