Is this the last gasp from Americas liberal elites before the November mid-terms on Tuesday? This is what economist Paul Krugman has to say in The New York Times today, predicting political chaos, with the hysterical warning if the elections go as expected next week, heres my advice: Be afraid. Be very afraid.
This is going to be terrible. In fact, future historians will probably look back at the 2010 election as a catastrophe for America, one that condemned the nation to years of political chaos and economic weakness.Krugman then goes on to blame George W. Bush for Americas economic problems, including the huge budget deficit, to which Barack Obama has added $3 trillion since taking office:
The economy, weighed down by the debt that households ran up during the Bush-era bubble, is in dire straits; deflation, not inflation, is the clear and present danger. And its not at all clear that the Fed has the tools to head off this danger. Right now we very much need active policies on the part of the federal government to get us out of our economic trap. Not only is Krugmans article one of the most ridiculous pieces of scare-mongering in the history of modern American journalism, but it is the pathetic whimper of a decaying liberal Ancien Regime that is spectacularly crumbling. It also illustrates just how out ofBut we wont get those policies if Republicans control the House. In fact, if they get their way, well get the worst of both worlds: Theyll refuse to do anything to boost the economy now, claiming to be worried about the deficit, while simultaneously increasing long-run deficits with irresponsible tax cuts cuts they have already announced wont have to be offset with spending cuts.

New York Socialite in 1972: “How could Nixon have won (re-election)? I don’t know one single person who voted for him!” Stupid and ignorant then and now.
Krugalgirl bone up on the math and get back to us.
When I was a child, I used to enjoy toying with retards and small animals.
After my mother slapped the piss out of me, I learned of the errors of my ways.
I remember that. Was that an actual quote or a cartoon in the National Review?
These days the retards have Nobel prizes.
Good smackdown article.
Actual quote from a McGovernite
I believe that was Pauline Kael.
And 1972 was such an apocalyptic blowout, it surely marked her as an out-of-touch elitist.
It was Pauline Kael, the movie reviewer.
No way should we write them off as being finished, as they did with conservatism between 2006-2008.
2010 has to be just round one and we need to come back again and again and again.
“Be afraid. Be very afraid.”
Afraid of what?
Some young hack NYT (owned now by Murdoch) reporter will interview him and we will tell us in a near whisper how he saved the country from certain economic armageddon by his brilliant analysis of the times.
Of course he will be wearing his Nobel Prize around his neck constantly shining it up for all to see
I understand your view, but this is different. Instead this is a grassroots movement and we conservatives have a real conduit to get the news out (aka, internet) and the MSM Mandarin class can’t smother our actions in the back pages. They can’t make us believe that we are alone. They no longer have the monopoly on perception or getting out the news. With all the damage that Obama has done and will continue to do, this is a perverse blessing. This isn’t about political affiliation, but about making this country waht it should be beyond a mere social experiment or playground.
Liberalism as we know it is being broken down at last and they will no longer have a chokehold on society the way the media used to have a chokehold on information. The election was the beginning of the end for hte MSM adn now the midterms are the beginning of hte end for the entertainers and ‘elites’ in academia and the news. As well as politics. it’s the end of backing down and bending over for average Americans and this time, for the first time in so long, we are finally throwing off the yoke of PC. We are no longer afraid, but fundamentally, we are indifferent to offending anyone.
It’s the end of fear and the beginning of boldness.
When was the last time Krugman was right about anything.
Set aside fear, put on boldness.
“if the elections go as expected next week, heres my advice: Be afraid. Be very afraid.?......
Only if your a whack left liberal ‘cause you’re all going back in the box!...This episode of the Twilight Zone is over!!!
All the members on the Socialist NYT staff should be very afraid anyway, as the mother ship heads for oblivion. There is no credibility left in the state-run media.
