Webster said he thinks this incident happened because he is gay.
Naturally, had Webster not been gay, he would have just punched Karimi; therefore being punched by Karimi, instead of being hit with a purse, means he was unfairly retaliated against in a non-gay manner, obviously a hate crime. Personally, I would consider him lucky to have only collected a mouse; and "possibly blindness (usually temporary) in one eye" hardly supports the tabloidesque headline of "...Blinds Gay Man..."
Anyone, gay or straight, and regardless of their religion, would get worse from me for throwing pizza in my face.

Being hit with a maybe 3 oz. flexible, doughy, disintigrating pizza slice is assault?

If the positions were reversed, and the Muzzie was the one clobbered, after using the pizza to B*slap the gay guy; or if the punching pizza guy was a Jew instead of a Muzzie, would the reaction to this be different?
