Sarah Palin, former Alaska governor and potential 2012 Republican presidential candidate, told thousands of supporters Saturday enough is enough. It's time to stick up for the "little guy."
Foreclosures are high, stimulus packages are doing nothing to help the nation bounce back and the budget deficit keeps climbing, Palin said. Americans are out of work, and those with jobs are in fear of losing them, she said.
"Little guys across America ... and momma Grizzlies are growling," said Palin, a leader of the Tea Party political movement, wearing the signature red power suit and rimless glasses. "We're going to protect our cubs."
"There comes a moment in time, a moment we feel today ... when we have to say enough is enough. And Bakersfield, enough is enough. You can take it back."
In a nearly nonstop cheerleading speech where she continued rousing the crowd amid cheers, Palin slammed President Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and others for "Obama Care" and demanded "restoration." She called for firings starting Nov. 2, Election Day.
"Are we better off now than we were when Barack Obama took office?" she asked the crowd, which responded with a loud, 'No!.....
......She talked about the "little man" who only wants a good job in his home town, but instead sees a country spending without asking, a bleak economic future, and borders that need protection.
Regarding local issues, Palin said California is rich with farm land, but a tiny fish is considered more important than thousands of Californians being fed, referring to the splittail fish at the center of Central Valley water controversy.
"I'm Alaskan, and I like my wildlife," she said. "But people are losing their farms, crops and livelihoods."
She asked why the "cocktail party" considers the Tea Party movement extreme.
"For believing in American exceptionalism?" Palin asked.
I think Mehlman and others in the RINO wing pushed the gay agneda from behind the scenes.
I don’t know if she can govern, but she has the best political instincts of any pol in the last 25 years.I expect “cocktail party” will do to the Dems what death panels did to Obamacare.
more from her speech: “We cannot undo the damage done by the Obama agenda until we replace Obama himself,” Palin said. “These two elections, 2010 and 2012, go hand-in-hand. ... The theme of 2010 has got to be rebuke their errors, reject, repeal; and then the theme of 2012 it’s renew, revive and restore.”
Palin told the crowd: “Folks, in 2012,” the message should be “renew our optimistic, pioneering spirit, revive our free market system and restore constitutional limits and our standing in the world, as that abiding beacon of freedom. ... Not transformation but restoration with a ‘Great Awakening’ that we already feel emerging across America. We will win this year, we will win this year. And I believe we will win in 2012.”
Cocktail Party. Oh she’s good. Perfect pitch.
I've been saying for months that the 2012 Republican nomination is Sarah's for the asking. And if she becomes our nominee, it's curtains for the Dems. They've got no one, including Obama, who can beat her.
I believe that Sarah's been positioning herself for a presidential run since at least the time of her book tour, if not before. She's done a masterful job of following in Reagan's footsteps in this regard.
She's kept her name in the news, and has become the de facto spokesperson for the burgeoning Tea Party rebellion. She's endorsed lots of candidates who will go on to win their elections, which has established a serious cache of political favors she can call in during her run for the presidency.
She's also positioned herself as the leading critic of the Obama administration. The other 2012 hopefuls were late to stand up in fierce opposition to Obama, so they're all perceived as standing behind her skirts now.
Watching Sarah Palin's maneuvers over the last two years has made me think that she couldn't have engineered a path to the White House more brilliantly. What's interesting, is reading the comments of others who don't see how well she's orchestrating this, and who believe that she's just an "aw shucks" Mama Grizzly, Tea Party lady.
She’s the best! She hitting grand slams and going to the World Series...LOL.
It’s not a new phrase, others have used it before. Accurate yes, and she’ll give it legs, but not her invention.
Wonder what Hillbuzz would do if somehow Hillary ended up being on the ticket in 2012?
Summary of Governor Palin's Endorsements
They have already addressed that. They’re with Governor Palin all the way.
They’re done voting democrat ever again.
Good to know that.
Thanks!
Sorry to disagree. In this fight was goes when the deals are made the the votes are counting in DC is more important then what goes on in a bedroom.
Ya nailed it again Windflier.....
"...theyre redefining, I guess, the term bitter clinger." LOLOLOL
Not only that, but it brings to mind all Hussein's little cocktail parties in the WH!
the dem tried to start a coffee party movement to counter the tea party movement, but the cocktail party movement suit them better (includes some rino in it too)
