Claiming that he misspoke during a recent interview, Florida senatorial candidate Charlie Crist (I) sought to clear away any misunderstandings that may have arisen as a result.
What I meant to say was that the health care bill is a large and complex undertaking, Crist said. In such a complex undertaking there are bound to be parts that voters would find disagreeable. I want to assure these voters that I would have voted against these parts.
At the same time, there are other parts of the legislation that are good parts that we absolutely need to have, Crist continued. I want to assure voters that I wouldve voted for these good parts.
Crist vowed that my balanced and flexible approach is my pledge as your next senator. You can count on me to be for the things that you are for and against the things that you are against. My opponents will try to persuade you that a policy is either right or wrong, necessary or wasteful, that there is a moral or prudential reason for some government action. If you want this kind of rigidity, then vote for them. But if you dont know the difference between right and wrong or are unsure of what makes sense, then Im your man.

When liberals lie, they always say they “misspoke”.
What I recall is that the vote was for an All or Nothing. Perhaps I’m the one who is confused.
The new, restructured, revised, explanation to his position or positions or misspokes will start in 3.....2.....1....
I like good things, and I dislike bad things. I hope you agree with me. Let’s move on.
A senator does not have line item veto. If he votes for the legislation, he votes for the bad parts as well as the good.
This is an insult to anyone with a modicum of intelligence.
Actually he was for it before he was against it...or parts of it...or not.
Dumbass, there are no "good" parts to the frickin' nationalize health care law.
Good one
Sorry Charlie!
There is an awful lost of ‘misspoke’ among politicians, Dems and Pubbies and other.
Over the years I have learned that in a vast majority of the time with an overwhelming number of our elected officials (at all levels) ... anytime a politicians mouth is open - s/he is lying.
With appointed cabinet officials the same is pretty much true.
Charlie Crist is the poster child for what people hate about politicians. It’s about him, not principles...and everyone knows it now.
My, I certainly walked right into that one. I wish they would put a satire flag on each of these articles. It is getting very hard to distinguish fact from fiction.
All Charlie’s trying to say now is that he wants to have it both ways, split the baby so to say and let it be known that he wants votes from both sides as he straddles the fence on every issue. Sorry Charlie but what you said before this had nothing to do with straddling.
