I wonder how much Toyota stock George Soros sold short just before the Toyota problems were faked, or how much stock he bought after it crashed (no pun intended).
I remember that it was Shumer who trashed IndyMac bank, and then, six months later, Soros bought the bank for a song.
I love my wife’s Toyota Sienna minivan. It is powerful, comfortable, reliable, and fairly fuel efficient getting an easy 25-26 mpg on the highway and 21 overall. Thinking of trading my 9 year old Civic in for a Solara convertible.
P.S. I will NEVER buy another new GM or Chrysler product again.
I remember well the Audi debacle of the 1980’s, and this is a similar sham by ignorant and/or crooked people and their lawyers, but this time with a crooked congress thrown in for good measure.
We bought a Toyota Venza in March. Assembled in Kentucky by non-union labor with 75% US/Canada parts. Very pleased with this car.
The blatant Union Thuggery against Toyota definitely makes me want to buy one, too. Oh, tsk tsk, they have dared to set up non-union shops? Even better. And GM is totally off my list/ will never buy Government Motors.
I know some people who’ve gone solely over to Ford on this account. Depending on how things go, maybe we should go back to horses.
I had a new Audi 5000 when this went down. Frankly, I knew immediately that somebody had mistaken the accelerator for the brake pedal, and that a lawyer had gotten hold of it. Mass hysteria then obviously set in.
60 Minutes did Audi a huge amount of damage with their hit piece on the 5000. Of course, it was later revealed that they had drilled into the transmission of an Audi 5000 and applied 225 psi air pressure at a strategic point to cause "Unintended Acceleration", but didn't reveal that fact.
I drove my 5000 from 1984 to 2001. Loved the car.
I would consider a Ford if I were in the market for a new car. Thinking about either a used Solara convertible or a used Mustang convertible.
