Across the world, the inexorable push for accepting the new culture of death continues unabated.
It's not a pretty picture, because whichever way you turn, there is pressure for assisted suicide and euthanasia to become an acceptable and even hallowed part of the social fabric.
While the roots of assisted suicide and euthanasia are hardly of recent vintage, the contemporary ground zero in our lifetimes is the Netherlands.
The Dutch pro-death story is the exemplar by which all pro-death efforts should be gauged because it shows how quickly a social taboo can be reversed in the public consciousness to being a desirable and even obligatory behavior.
By the late 1980s, the Netherlands had a problem. It was clear that in medical facilities across the country, hundreds of patients were being euthanized behind closed doors. The rising evidence of medicalized killing was problematic because euthanasia was then (and still is) illegal in Holland.
Predictably, rather than prosecuting medical personnel who were in effect executing their patients, the authorities' hand-wringing led to the Remmelink Report, which verified that illegal medicalized killing was a fact. Just as predictably, the Dutch solution was to regulate euthanasia rather than prosecute the killing as a criminal offense.

So sad. So scary. We have really lost our way.
Anyone who tells me one of my family members needs to be euthanized will in turn be putting their own life at risk. So typical of Euros.. don’t take a definitive step to stop acts of evil... just regulate them and if possible tax them.
Didn’t Germany just pass a pro euthanasia law?.
Right to die—> Duty to die—> Die you SOB, die.
You’re not productive enough in our commune, and you don’t think the right thoughts, and you’re using up resources and food, and nobody likes you anyway.
...”It’s not a pretty picture, because whichever way you turn, there is pressure for assisted suicide and euthanasia to become an acceptable and even hallowed part of the social fabric”...
This is a very dangerous forerunner to the out-and-out murder of those whom the powers that be find inconvenient to their lusts and goals. God is the giver and the taker of life..No other..Man is way too stupid to make those decisions..There is no mental category to explain the disease of EVIL, but this disease is growing among our “drug cultured” authorities..And, I DO believe many of them have been and possibly are, drug users. People with normal emotions and consciences do not dream up these diabolical fantasies. There has to be a connection. The good people of this world had better come out of their slumber. Watch the movie HOTEL RWANDA to get an idea of what such thought processes will bring to a people.
They are all former 60s burnouts who went into politics.
'The Euthanasia Drumbeat Gets Louder'
Oh ....... 'Drat'!
Why wasn't I born
60 years later!
Liberals hate life and try to eliminate it at both ends. Jihadis admit that they love death. Is that why liberals and jihadis get along so well?
Our own history shows that in the 1930s there were those who sought to remove the less desirable from our communities.
Sanger for one. Oliver Wendell Holmes was all for sterilizing those less able to contribute to society.
There was a movement to allow 28 days from birth to kill an infant born with disabilities/abnormalities.
This eugenics plan did not originate with the Nazi’s. It was alive and well right here in the USA.
Note Princeton Professor Singer who proposes allow 28 days after birth to kill a handicapped infant.
We are doomed if we allow these so called progressives, such as hitlery klinton and her ilk, and he whose name I cannot bring myself to print, to push this devil of a health care reform on unsuspecting Americans.
WAKE UP
He Who Must Not Be Named.
I always suspected that euthanasia would follow abortion - the slippery slope and all. I have to wonder what follows - eugenics based abortion and/or sterilization?
As a friend once said, “Where are we going, what am I doing in this basket, and why it is getting hot?”

They will say that they have to do this because of global warming and the carbon footprint from old sick people using up too much energy and resources (who have no "quality of life" or "productivity" - the "useless eaters"). It's madness. Malthusian population control. Obama is the puppet of the secret societies promoting this. They're probably already tabulating the carbon footprint savings of early deaths from the BP Gulf oil spill.
If those ghouls got their way they'd prolly put Stephen Hawking at the top of the list.
After all look at the fossil fuels he uses to stay alive and the massive Carbon Footprint that follows him. And since he hasn't contributed anything to Physics in decades what's the point of having him around any longer.
So sorry Stephen, thanks for all that Black Hole stuff, but it's off to the Death Chamber for you now.
I've had a Living Will and DNR for decades but since I've become a Christian and pro-life I've begun to question these two items and wonder if I should continue on with them.
Only problem is that at least one of the hospitals in my area presents both documents to a person upon any testing or admitting to their hospital and strongly urges the patient to sign them. I don't know if they would deny care if the patient were to refuse but I've gotten the feeling (my own experience) that they just might.
Thanks for you opinions. I highly regard them.
IMO (and that’s all it is), everyone needs an advocate - a very close friend or relative who loves you and knows you well and is willing to stand up to doctors, nurses and hospital authorities to make sure your desires are done, you are not killed, and if you do not want “heroic life saving measures” (which description is entirely subjective) that they are not forced on you.
For example, I do want life saving measures, but if I was 85 with a very terminal condition or more than one terminal condition, I might not want “heroic life saving measures”.
My position is that doctors, nurses and most of all hospital authorities canNOT be trusted at this point. Any medical procesures you do or do not want done to you, you MUST discuss in detail and carefully with your doctor/s and if you are still not sure they understand or will stand up for your wishes, you especially need a friend/relative advocate.
Who will fight for you if need be.
I don’t know if this is helpful or not, hope so. I would also sign anything possible that says “NO ORGAN DONATIONS”! That may accelerate “them” saying you are dead so they can get your organs.
PS - I am as pro-life as can be, other than also being a death penalty advocate.
Just imagine what an Obamacare "Death Counseling" questionnaire would look like....
"Evaluate your productivity over the last five years."
"What is your monthly carbon footprint?"
"Tell us some reasons why we should keep you alive."
