The Second Revolution is on the way!

By Dave Duffy

Does anyone know how much money a trillion dollars is? It's a handy thing to know because our country will be about $12.5 trillion in debt by the time you read this.

snip

There are several ways to try to get a mental grip on just how much money a trillion is. Reader Harvey Smith of Visalia, California, suggests we think of it in seconds: One million seconds would take you back 11.5 days, one billion seconds would take you back 31.7 years, and one trillion seconds would take you back 31,546 years. So 12.5 trillion seconds would take you back just under 400,000 years, which is an easy number for me to remember because I have written several articles about Antarctica ice cores, which conveniently date back through four ice ages to 400,000 years ago.

snip

Here's another way to look at it: According to the Treasury Department, a new $1 bill is .0043 inches thick.

I don't know about his conclusion, I just thought the different ways to try to grasp just how much debt the federal government has amassed was interesting.

The sad thing is, this doesn't even take into account the unfunded liablities.

One thing I feel pretty confident in predicting: America's Second Revolution is coming, and the young will bring it.

And some old boomers may participate too. First step is a total rout for the Dems & RINOs in November

100 rows x $10,000,000,000 = $1,000,000,000,000 (one trillion dollars)

I agree, which is why I'd indicated that I didn't particularly agree with his conclusion. I don't see it particularly as a generation conflict but a citizen vs insane government conflict. The politicians must be reined in. Government must be downsized drastically. We can't keep spending. It will literally take generations to fix the mess they've created assuming not another dollar of debt is created...and we all know that Obama isn't about to stop spending, even if it means destroying the nation. And many are growing to believe that has been his goal all along.

From the Article:
Are you starting to get an idea of how huge the debt is? There's another way to look at it: Divide the population of the United States, which is about 300 million, into a trillion and you get $3,333 per person. Since the debt is $12.5 trillion, that means every man, woman, and child in the United States owes ($3,333 x 12.5) $41,666. But of course we older folks will be long gone by the time we have to pay any of that debt off, so it really means that the younger generation, say Americans under age 30, which total about 129 million people, will have to pay back ($12.5 trillion ÷ 129 million) about $97,000 each to get the country out of debt.
[snip]
One thing I feel pretty confident in predicting: America's Second Revolution is coming, and the young will bring it.

no kidding, when you're forced to pay nearly $97,000 for something you aren't going to be able to use you're liable to act strongly against it.

It is his goal. His and George Soros. When I look back at his first few months I can’t believe there is an American alive who would still support him but they do.

I don't see a revolution coming at all....otherwise we would see it in the polls by now. Obama and the Dems are hanging in there, with a few exceptions.

Most Americans could care less, and with the half that do care, half of those are moochers, looters, and government workers.

And with each passing day more Americans will be subsidized by government for their essentials, and more and more Americans will be government employed.

As a matter of fact, I am not sure they can be called “Americans” anymore.

When he was first elected I thought maybe he was just incompetent...but what the dems have done is so massively destructive to the nation it become obvious that they were working to crash the nation.

Personally, I think it's probably too late to correct the damage they've done. What is probably the best strategy is to position to be in control of the recovery. I believe the progressives expect little competition after the crash so they can step in and control the nation.

“And many are growing to believe that has been his goal all along.”

True, and I recall FReepers including Mrs. RQSR, and myself predicting that goal prior to his election.

We and those others that predicted the results we are seeing actually listened to the bastard when he spoke. He said what he was going to do, and if he did not, then his wife did.

All one had to do was listen, but too many seemed to want the Black guy to win, and wanted to be a part of the first real Black guy being President. They put words they wanted to hear into his mouth rather than listening to his actual words. They stepped into the polling booth, and said “I’ll show THEM I’m NOT prejudice”, and voted for Obama. Then they walked out of the booth feeling all warm and fuzzy about themselves.

They were BS’d, and America is now on the road to “H”.

More printing presses! Well, that’s what the bankers are doing, printing money to cover...well, ponzi scheme is all it is. Print money to pay someone which requires printing more money.

As I indicated, I don't particularly agree with his conclusion. I don't expect a revolution of that nature either. As you implied, the democrats have more support than they should given what they've done to the nation. I believe the problem is a combination of people sleeping through the problem as they just assume things will always go along as they have before coupled with an ever increasing number dependent upon government largess.

What I do suspect will happen is, as Margaret Thatcher said..."The trouble with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money".

I think that day is coming sooner than later...and the result will be an economic collapse. This is in line with the Cloward and Piven strategy, and it is growing increasingly clear that is the model the democrats are employing. They seem intent on crashing the nation economically, and then, I would expect, plan on being in the best position to jump into the vacuum they create. Never let a crisis go to waste, as several in the Obama regime have been quoted as saying. And if they say it publicly, now much more do they plan for it privately?

We need to stop ANY LEGISLATION that includes more or new taxes.

We are being TAXED into family financial defeat and it HAS TO STOP.

It is NOT FAIR and it is WRONG HEADED!

Are we now not allowed to own ANYTHING that is not taxed to death?

For instance....did the AL GORE tax that he put on all telephones in order to buy every school computers, did that TAX ever get taken OFF OUR PHONE BILLS? Hell no.

Go and LOOK at your PHONE BILLS. Do you pay a cell phone tax, too? Here in Indiana we pay an almost SIX DOLLAR STATE TAX every month and a SIX DOLLAR FED TAX every month on a THIRTY DOLLAR PHONE BILL, land line, that we hardly ever use! (Had the long distance part taken off as the cell long distance, of course, is cheaper.)

WHY?

And why gasoline tax?

And PROPERTY TAXES that are never ending and feel like RENT MONEY when the mortgage is paid off...WHY do we have so MANY TAXES?

On food, on CLOTHES, on entertainment, on TV, on and on and on and on and on and on And NOW...they want to TAX internet usage?

Is there no relief?

If those ARSEHOLES in DC want more TAX money, tell them to STOP looking for ways to make it impossible for some of us to even afford a movie anymore and and tell them to start CUTTING OUT ALL OF THE HORRIFIC PROGRAMS THEY HAVE ENACTED TO ROB US OF OUR MONEY AND PUT US INTO DEBT.

THEY ARE THE ONES WHO MISUSED OUR MONEY. NOT US THEM!

SPENDING MORE THEN WE HAD WHEN WE TRUSTED THEM AND ELECTED THEM TO CONTROL OUR MONEY FOR DEFENSE AND INFRASTRUCTURE AND GOVERNMENTAL SALARIES (like theirs, that they happily raise at will) and natural DISASTERS.

THEY ARE THE ONES WHO PUT US INTO DEBT. Not us. THEM-----> living breathing men and women, ALL FOUR HUNDRED and THIRTY-FIVE in the House of Representatives and ALL ONE HUNDRED in the SENATE.

THEY PUT US INTO DEBT, in some cases, just ONE PARTY DID IT, like the DEMOCRATS voting in the COSTLY, HORRIFIC, FREEDOM KILLING of CHOICE HEALTH/DEATH BILL.

Damn it. NO MORE SPENDING. NOT ON DIME!!!!*( Or here is an idea-force every congressman to take a HUGE CUT in salary and benefits (ie make them all go on the health care death debacle they voted to lay on all of us...NO SPECIAL WAIVERS-lol) until they BALANCE THE BUDGET...which is their job.

Do not let them LEAVE DC until EVERY PROGRAM IS CUT that will allow the budget to balance out within a few years. MAKE THEM DO THE HARD WORK THEY ARE PAID TO DO SINCE THEY PUT US INTO THIS HORRIFIC ECONOMIC NIGHTMARE.

Then you were a few months ahead of me. I knew he was a Marxist and denounced him as such prior to the election...so I knew what he was about...I had no illusions there. But I thought he was just intending to shift the nation...to "transform" it. But after his first few actions it seemed like he was intent on not transforming but overthrowing the nation. I have seen nothing since those first few months that have changed my opinion and much to confirm it.

I only use my phone for fairly short conversations...to make arrangements to meet and the like. I replaced my cell with a prepaid cell phone. I bought a phone that was unlinked to a service from New Egg and I just buy my minutes that I use. I use between $5 and $8 per month on minutes and I own my phone. As I recall, my phone cost about $75...prorate that over just 1 year and that's $6.25 per month...so my phone costs me between about $10 to 15 per month and that goes down after the first year. Given that the cheapest per month rate is about $30 to $40 it's much cheaper this way.

There may be charges in those minutes that gets siphoned away for taxes, although that is invisible to me because I just pay a flat fee for minutes.

Question-can people call you on that cell phone that you own? Do you get a charge for calls made to you when you buy the minutes as you do?

Well technically, Thatcher was correct.

Except as we see in Great Britain, they are learning to adapt, as citizens always do.

Raise taxes, get private business on board with gov regs, threats and subsides...CEOs and unions supporting the nannie state. The Feds already subsidize the States.

It is a slow process, so slow that no one notices that all election debates now center ONLY on the State's need for more power (to protect the citizens) and more funding.

It is NEVER about taking away the power of gov to “help” its citizens.

No, it is too late to be saved by the ballot box. And our candidates, even the most conservative know they cannot do much, and the time for conservative politics is almost run out.

In the next decade who will run and win on taking away ones healthcare??

NO WAY...those days will soon be gone forever without radical intervention.

And we don't have the guts for that..we are too civilized.

And many are growing to believe that has been his goal all along.

In 1992, I confess, I voted for Bill Clinton. Out of disgust and "and what's the use" feeling of despair. My motivation was to allow the socialist left, bent on destroying America by transforming it into a new Socialist Paradise. The ordinary citizen, unaware of the seriousness of the threat, would be aghast at the results and rise up to quash the movement, once and for all, and we would return to the governement of the people by the people.

At the time I was unaware of both the Cloward-Piven strategy as well as the depth of cluelessness and indifference of the average voter.

I was 17 years too early.

What I assumed would take a entire presidential term to accomplish (the transformation and indignance of the American populace and the rising up of a people who realized that their way of life was being destroyed) could actually be accomplished in one year. No one, in 1992, could imagine that level of insanity could prevail. Not everyone has yet realized it today!

The prescient novel 1984 summed it up perfectly, and we are fortunate (?) to be able to experience the unthinkable first hand :

The internet is a danger to us all, because too much information is a BAD thing...

“WAR IS PEACE
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH."

"The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power. Not wealth or luxury or long life or happiness: only power, pure power. What pure power means you will understand presently. We are different from all the oligarchies of the past, in that we know what we are doing. All the others, even those who resembled ourselves, were cowards and hypocrites. The German Nazis and the Russian Communists came very close to us in their methods, but they never had the courage to recognize their own motives. They pretended, perhaps they even believed, that they had seized power unwillingly and for a limited time, and that just round the corner there lay a paradise where human beings would be free and equal. We are not like that. We know that no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means; it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power."

Yes, it is TIME to DownSize DC!

Eliminate entire departments (Education, EPA, etc)

Eliminate all functions not expressly designated to the Federal Government by the Constitution. All other powers rightfully belong to the State and the People. NOT to our elected elitist overlords.

Force the Congress & Senate to telecommute most of the year. Live in their home districts under the thumb of the electorate and away from the lobbyists.

The legislature in Texas meets on a 2 year schedule, unless a special session is called by the Governor. It has worked well for us a long time.
