Phil Pagano, the chief executive of Chicago's commuter rail system who was under investigation for paying himself a $56,000 bonus, "committed suicide by stepping in front of a commuter train" as reported by Andrew Stern for Reuters. Apparently suicide is the Chicago way: "Chicago Public Schools Chief Executive Michael Scott shot himself to death along the Chicago River in November; and Christopher Kelly, an aide to ousted former state governor Rod Blagojevich, committed suicide in September before he was due to begin a prison term."

Based on recent reports from NYC, I thought suicide-by-train required a disguise, a set of highway flares, and a quart of cyanide.
No? You can just use the train?? Well, then what was that young New Yorker really doing in the tunnel?

Anyone know if Willie Greene will be attending the funeral?

“Pagano appears to have thrown himself in front of a train in Crystal Lake.
Crystal Lake police confirmed they are conducting a death investigation near a Metra Rail station, and have scheduled a press conference for later this morning. The medical examiner declined to confirm the identity of the body. Remains can be seen along the Metra tracks.”

Has anyone broken this news to Willie Green?
To: Touch Not the Cat
Getting serious for a moment ... being involved in someone’s suicide could be very traumatic for the engineer (or even passengers).
To: AtlasStalled
In light of the allegations, he just couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Remember the movie “White Line Fever” when the corrupt trucking company goons stood Slim Pickens in front of that fast-moving semi?
Something like that.

Remember John Travolta’s line in “The Punisher” when asked what happened to his wife(who he threw off a bridge onto railroad tracks): “She took a train”.
