President Barack Obama sought to deflect concerns over lingering high unemployment by suggesting that peoples obsession with prosperity has gone too far in this country. I mean, theres a point where a person has to realize that hes got too much money.
Getting Americans to overcome this obsession is a difficult undertaking, the President observed. Theyre going to need our help. Maybe itll take something like a value-added tax to sop up some of the excess funds that people are encumbered with. Plus, by transferring a greater share of the nations wealth from selfish individuals to the government we can simultaneously combat mammonism while providing more generous financing of socially needed investments like high-speed rail.

I bet he was thinking it anyways.
Sorry, too close to some of the things Obozo has said to be effective satire. /sarc
Yup... but it is just the kind of statement that stupid SOB WOULD make.
It’s definitely what he’s thinking but won’t say unless it slips out to someone like Joe the Plummer....
It’s hard to parody Obama. He’s so far over the top politically that it’s like a parody of Liberace - it can’t be done without cautious understatement.
he is really saying “ we have decided that we will be taking more of what you work for”. he is a true communist...all we should have is a dirt floor and a hut..except for him..he should be have a palace. this man is a real jerk and places value on no one but himself..scary
Yes, and many of them from Hollywood wore their Oscar night best and flaunted their wealth and privilege...

What a piece of work this guy is.
Unbelievable.
If he thinks we need pay reductions, let’s start with HIS.
Let’s guarantee that he can’t make more than $80,000, and every dime he makes above that is taken by his beloved totalitarian state.
After all, with all the free perqs he gets, why would he need more than 80 large? Even his meals are paid for, already.
He and Michelle probably don’t even remember what it’s like to go to the supermarket to shop.
In fact, seeing has he’s never had a real job but has always had a free ride, he and “Aunt Esther” probably never knew what it’s like to go shopping every week and pick carefully what you buy so you can make your limited funds feed the family until the next paycheck.
I sure hope the American people wake up and SOON!
John.
I thought you posted satire.
This is not satire. This is truth - straight from the wires.
It’s very very sad. I could see where people might think an American President would never say he sees a point where people would make too much money.
But with a Socialist Kenyan occupying the White Hut.... anything is possible.
What about government pensions and free healthcare for government employees on the backs of the taxpayers? Is there too much of that? What about retirement at age 55? What about 6 weeks of vacation? What about all the other benefits that government workers get that result in a pretty easy life? Is there too much of that?
In my experience, people who make a lot of money bust their arses to make it. No one gets handed $200K + per year to do nothing. Usually, they are smart and hard working.
Unless its government
Sure..the Feds want what you got...very simple...
well, union workers are.
I think he is making too much money.
Everything you write is too close to the truth to be outrageous so no one is surprised and believes it is true.
“I mean, theres a point where a person has to realize that hes got too much money.
Gee.
I can’t wait until *I* get to that point.
Obamanomics is killing our home business so I’m not holding my breath.
Jack Cashill has an excellent article on this subject at American Thinker.

Ooops!
I didn’t see that it was satire!
It’s so much like him to say such stupid things, I took it at face value!
