Where was Obama’s allegiance at age 18-23?
The Post & Email ^ | April 29, 2010 | Sally Vendée

...Mario Apuzzo…has extensively researched both British and Kenyan citizenship laws… Obama’s Kenyan citizenship most likely did automatically expire, his British citizenship, however, did not…

… Obama, after reaching 18, had the legal right to retain or choose his citizenship...

...If his Kenyan and British citizenships, as his supporters argue, were conferred on him…without his consent, then supposedly he would not have even acknowledged either of them and, as Fight the Smears has offered, rather let them “expire.”

…why, then, are Obama’s college records as closely-guarded as the infamous long-form Birth Certificate? Could it be that these records, for the time in Obama’s life when he had reached majority and could make legally-binding decisions and actions, would show that he did make a choice, and it wasn’t U.S. citizenship?

… Did Obama, on his passport application and Occidental, Columbia, and Harvard admission applications, assert and declare either British or Kenyan citizenship?

...All of the college admissions and the Pakistan trip transpired before the purported “expiration date” of 1984.

…—for some sort of foreign scholarship, or perhaps, as he discusses in his book, in a search for his identity, or just for a “cool” factor—so he could call himself a “citizen of the world?”

… what about the 18-year-olds who every day in America instead pledge their very lives in allegiance to their country by voluntarily enlisting in our armed forces?

…At what point in his life, as his wife Michelle similarly admitted, did Obama first become proud of his country, and did he consider this country to be the United States?

…Obama has implied that questions of his citizenship are “uncivil.” The most “uncivil” act against the very country over which he now presides would have been Obama’s own rejection of his United States citizenship and therefore his allegiance.

Yep, thanks - those two have been involved with each other for a very long time.

Journalists began hounding Columbia University for copies of the musty document. Conservative bloggers began wondering if the young Obama had written a no-nukes screed that he might come to regret. And David Bossie, the former congressional investigator and “right-wing hit man,” as one newspaper described him, took out classified newspaper ads in Columbia University’s newspaper and the Chicago Tribune in March searching for the term paper.

Do universities keep undergraduate theses for more than 20 years? I seriously doubt anyone could turn up my undergraduate thesis, and that was only 10 years ago.

It’s incredible to me that a person with those connections could become the POTUS. If you had a guy that was financed by a David Duke type....(same difference) he wouldn’t get any farther than president of the local chapter of the JackA$$ club.

“Barack [Obama] and Hasan showed up at the house in a BMW, and then we went to a restaurant together,” Drew says.

An unusually expensive car for a student to have.

According to Intelius.com, Mohammed H Chandoo is now 41 years old. That would make him about 12 years old in 1980. I wonder who owned the BMW, and who was driving the BMW...

Obama never registered to vote in Hawaii, so when and where did he register to vote? For a man who wanted to be President, why didn’t he register at 18?

All of the college admissions and the Pakistan trip transpired before the purported “expiration date” of 1984.

The timing would certainly fall in line with his sudden revival of his birth name of Barack Hussein Obama from Barry circa 1982-1983.

OBAMA'S VISIT WITH HIS KENYAN RELATIVES IN THE 1980'S

Aspiring to go into politics later, he likely recognized that renewing his Kenyan, British (Commonwealth) or Indonesian passport may have caused complications later on, and then just traveled on his US Passport.

Of course, because Obama's passport records were purposefully tampered with, and incriminating documents within was likely removed, during the March 2008 US State Dept break-in (see Obama’s Intelligence Adviser Involved in Security Breach), we may never know ... short of a Congressional investigation taking place ... sometime after November 2010.

Wonder if is trip..was funded by an USAID grant arranged by his mother..and the other trips over seas..

Going to Africa is not cheap, were there direct flights..on an American carriers..I had to use Air France via Paris to arrive in East Africa....or Lufthansa via Frankfurt to Addis.

The connections had over night stays..where did Obama stay..what were the routes..he took..

It was a chunk of money..who funded his overseas trips.

USAID had grants to pay for private high schools and college for employees’dependent children if they could be id with a handicap..mental or physical.

The United States has already contributed $67 million to the fund, and has requested another $408 million in President Obama’s fiscal 2011 budget proposal. If approved, the new money would be available when the federal fiscal year starts on Oct. 1, administration officials said.

Guess where..it is for farmers..

Generally it's a lot easier for American citizens to get college financial aid than it is for foreigners. In point of fact, it's nearly impossible for the latter.

…—for some sort of foreign scholarship,

I am not aware of any college scholarships available to foreigners studying in the US that aren't available to American citizens. If you know of one, please share.

The hunt for Obama’s senior “thesis”

Columbia doesn't require a thesis for graduation. Students have the option to write one in order to receive honors from their academic department, but Obama did not graudate with any honors, departmental or otherwise. Hence I doubt he wrote a thesis.

Probably Malibu, CA, given that he was attending Occidental College at the time.

He supposedly registered for the draft in July 1980 in Hawaii...He turned 18 in Hawaii in August 1979 when he would have been first eligible to register to vote. Yes he was supposedly at Occidental in 1979-81, why hasn’t the media questioned him on his voter registration and voting record, Hawaii, LA, Columbia, Chicago?

Yes, when he was home for the summer. Male college students are supposed to register for the draft where their parents live, but they are free to register to vote where they attend college.

In fact, colleges often encourage students to register locally, as that gives the college greater influence on local politics.

He turned 18 in Hawaii in August 1979 when he would have been first eligible to register to vote.

1979 wasn't an election year, so he probably didn't bother until an election was coming up.

I didn't register to vote right when I turned 18. I waited until there was an election coming up. I suspect most people do that.

Yes he was supposedly at Occidental in 1979-81, why hasn’t the media questioned him on his voter registration and voting record, Hawaii, LA, Columbia, Chicago?

I don't see why they would. Of what possible importance could it be?

FYI, voter registration roles are public information. If you are really curious about it, you can go search them for yourself.

That is how the New York Times described it. It may not have been a 'thesis'. The other article I linked to had "thesis" in quotes. Also, Obama (apparently) went to Columbia College, an undergrad part of Columbia University.

"Columbia College is the oldest undergraduate college at Columbia University, situated on the university's main campus of Morningside Heights in the Borough of Manhattan in the City of New York."

That is how the New York Times described it.

The NY Times isn't infallible. This wouldn't be the first time they got their facts wrong.

It may not have been a 'thesis'. The other article I linked to had "thesis" in quotes.

They're probably referring to a seminar research paper. Most majors require taking at least one seminar in which the student must hand in a 20-30 page research paper at the end of the semester.

I just checked, and in point of fact Polical Science, Obama's major, requires two.

A seminar paper is distinct from an honors thesis, which is closer to 100 pages and takes a full year to write.

Columbia students generally don't choose to write a senior honors thesis unless they are seriously considering an academic career, which, by all accounts, Obama was not.

If they are talking about Obama's seminar papers, then it's pretty doubtful they still exist. The university doesn't store them anywhere, and Obama probably didn't keep them. Very few people I know have kept their seminar papers this long.

I'd be hard pressed to produce mine if you asked me for them, though I do have my honors thesis, as I am quite proud of it.

Also, Obama (apparently) went to Columbia College, an undergrad part of Columbia University.

Yes, I know. I'm also an alumnus.

FYI, there's no doubt Obama attended. The university has confirmed that he attended, and he's listed as a graduate on the commencement program. The Alumni magazine, which I get, published a few pictures of him on or around campus as a young man.

There's also no way he'd get into Harvard law without having a Bachelor's degree.
