Interesting thoughts on "aliens" by Stephen Hawking. Question - Is it possible that "aliens" are really just a demonic deception that will be revealed in the last days to lead us astray?

This is most excellent news to those of us who at least held out the possibility for aliens, as well as those who were aware that it /could/ all be a spiritual deception as well. VERY interesting to say the least... [Oh, and kudos Quix for sticking with your beliefs despite all the naysayers, too.]

There has been fascinating research and discoveries about a “multiverse”. I’ve only read a little, but it really is something to think about.

Imagine the possibility... Sliders come to life! LOL [Don’t know if you remember that show - it was on FOX a long time ago...]

INDEED.

They have been giving the globalist oligarchy tons of advanced technology to make war with for at least 6 decades.

Thanks, Liberty Rocks.

I could not change my perspective. I KNOW too much of the truth.

There are evidently some mods and a host of naysayers hereon who are rabidly hostile toward me because of my beliefs and postings on such matters. However, I have some compassion and a bit of pity for them because they are simply uninformed—and certainly not informed to the degree I am from studying it since 1962-ish.

Nor have they had a relative working around the craft as I have.

Still, given their lack of solid, objective, fair-minded study of the topic, one would THINK that conservatives—particularly conservative Christians would AT LEAST be more charitable and fair minded enough to wait and see without all the hostility and demeaning assaultiveness.

Sigh.

OK, now stop that! LOL But, yeah, you’re right... If “they’re here” so to speak, then I have no doubt they could figure out computer technology. Especially, if like some believe our technology is partly based upon alien craft [fiber optics, microwaves(? - not sure about that one myself... the military was doing a LOT with that sort of science), etc...] Anyway, just remember — just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they aren’t out to get you... ;)

Just remember — there will be some you will never be able to convince, or who will meet the idea with too much skepticism for their own good, IMHO. But, then, I know you know that already. Be happy others are introducing the ideas into the public debate, and don’t worry about the folks who don’t have eyes to see. Well, don’t give up, but you know what I mean! LOL :) Me, trying to give /you/ advice! LOL

I think your thoughts are entirely rational and probable.

Thanks for your wise exhortation. It is appreciated.

Heading to bed. very exhausted from long day at pottery . . . a lot grinding shelves and recoating some with kiln wash. Ran out of hours and energy but not tasks.

“I’ve thought for many years that SETI is scanning the wrong band.”

Well, I do not know what else they could scan?
To my knowledge, they scan a very broad range of frequencies, all with automated receivers.
One of the origins of SETI was from the mid 50s, some 20+
years from the first TV signals that were broadcast.
Since they were on VHF, they would pass through the ionosphere
and continue on into outer space.
Eleven years to the nearest star and eleven years for a reply.
Well, that was the basic concept.

Just as a chimpanzee can’t understand quantum theory,

I don't think even Professor Hawkings really understands quantum theory!

There are other spectra, such as X-ray, Gamma ray, infrared, visible light, and other bands of radiation which could be used by an advanced race to beam communications.

He suggests that aliens might simply raid Earth for its resources and then move on: “We only have to look at ourselves to see how intelligent life might develop into something we wouldn’t want to meet. I imagine they might exist in massive ships, having used up all the resources from their home planet. Such advanced aliens would perhaps become nomads, looking to conquer and colonise whatever planets they can reach.”

I saw that movie. It had that fresh prince fella in it.

The average duration that a civilization can radiate electromagnetic radiation that is detectable at interstellar distances is factor L in the Drake Equation.

This is one factor where we are likely to accumulate at least one solid data point. How soon we will have it is an interesting speculation.

No - they're most likely monitoring this place as a potential source of contamination to the "neighborhood".

I fear they plan to tear it down to make room for an intergalactic bypass.

What if the aliens planted “End Times Prophecies” in ancient religions to thwart and confuse humanity because their timeline for taking over the planet was thousand of years in the future?

If that is the case, they are either very patient or very stupid. Humanity has always been confused, why wait thousands of years to catch us off guard :)

Thank you. I had no idea we had so many “alien” fans here on FR. An argument could be made that it only goes to show how ripe we are for the deception.
