Is there anyway that Sarah Palin isn't the Republican nominee in 2012? (From a Leftist Blogger)

If Sarah Palin runs for President, then she will win the Republican nomination. The rally she is holding today with Michelle Bachmann is amazing, and Obama-like, in it's size:

More than 10,000 Republican faithful are expected to crowd into the Minneapolis Convention Center on Wednesday when Sarah Palin joins Rep. Michele Bachmann at a fundraiser and rally for Bachmann's re-election bid and the Minnesota state Republican Party.

Anyone who can draw 10,000 people to a rally in Minnesota--in early 2010, no less-- is formidable. In the specific case of Sarah Palin, it makes her virtually unstoppable.

National polling for the Republican nomination has consistently shown Palin in a roughly three-way tie with Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee. However:

1. Huckabee is unlikely to run, and his evangelical / born again base (virtually all Huckabee voters in 2008 were evangelicals) is a lot closer to Sarah Palin than they are to Mitt Romney. So, Palin will likely start ahead in national polls among declared candidates.

2. Romney's strength in 2008 was in caucuses, which are dominated by dedicated activists. Of the 11 states that Romney won in 2008, three were "home" states (MA, where he was Governor; MI where his father was Governor; and UT for religion), and the other eight were all caucuses. However, Romney isn't going to win many caucuses if he is facing a candidate who can draw 10,000 people to a rally in early 2010, not to mention what is likely a tarnished reputation among Republican activists after the health care fight.

3. Palin's grassroots strength will provide her with all the funding she needs, and also goes a long way to pre-empting any possible insurgent candidacy against her. This will especially be the case if Ron Paul runs again, since Paul can't win the nomination but would soak up pretty much all of the remaining grassroots energy on the Republican side.

4. Say what you will about Palin's ability as a campaigner, but if gaffes were going to make her unpopular among Republicans, it would have happened already.

If Sarah Palin runs for President in 2012, I have a difficult time imagining someone else winning the Republican nomination. While this is pretty good news for Democrats, as Palin polls worse against Obama than almost any other Republican (see also PPP polling), it is also pretty scary. A continually weak economy--which is very possible--could actually make her President less than three years from now.

One thing is certain, if she decides to run it will be for the right reasons - not some personal journey of discovery or to settle collective salvation.

I figured that suggestion may come. :) But since I respect the constitution I think I’ll leave that for later should there be an amendment to such effect.

In the meantime, I’ll be drinking my earl gray, hot.

She has indicated more that she will if you read her book and read her speeches and interviews, BTW Rahm was trying to destroy her administration by suing her and her staff out of their money, the Palins were poor as far as politicians lifestyle were...There was no legal way to stop the loophole by which Rahm and the democrats were trying to create harm and havoc, BHO can not be personally bankrupt by conservatives for doing his job, because the of the protection by Inspector Generals and other measures, if she had staid then many of her top Administration people would have resigned because of the constant false lawsuits and them paying for own defense, Sarah would have been dragging herself out of 2011, raggedy

You know, yea, Mitt does have good business savvy. But consider; as gov. , Sarah sat down and negotiated with the largest companies (oil) in the world, and set the terms and won. That does not indicate a neophyte to me.

As for the rest of the things you seem to think she needs to do; She is doing much of that among other things.

Something is clouding your observational skills. Palin is going to win the Primary handily, and will then beat O'Bunga by almost 2-to-1. I'm talking Biblical, Earth-shaking landslide.

Time alone will tell, but what will transpire in this country between now and 2012 under the slimey, bent hand of Bukkaki O'bunga is going to outrage the majority of American voters even more than have the Commie quisling stunts he's pulled already.

Expect a tectonic shift to the Right (and the "right"!) by 3-out-of-4 voters. The results will be skewed by ACORN and tons of desperate Democrat thuggery, but she'll still win 2-to-1. Hell, if the GOP ran Bugs Bunny, he'd beat O'Bunga in a landslide by 2012.

Watch and see. Time passes quickly.

What the crap is wrong with her hair??? Is it b/c she doesn’t look like a man and actually looks like a woman??? God forbid! Must she look like the leftist with their lezbo hair??? I mean, I admit her hairstyle can not even compete with the Romney “Do”...

Isn’t it funny how no one ever seems to think the men need to change their hair to be a formidable candidate??

I have always maintained that Sarah Palin will never speak before nothing less than SRO crowds as long as she remains in national politics, that she will continually be Obama’s nemesis and thorn in his side and put him on his heels, and above all will never give up the fight and be prepared to go the full 15 rounds.

If Mitt beats her, he will be have deserved it.

"More than half the TPers I know are not aboard that train."

Wow, that many? More than half of those whom you know" That's gotta be, what, 20 or 30 people? 100? 200?

Well, I guess that's that then, huh? What a booger-eating schlubnik. Let's ignore that she absolutely kills in 75% of the "who do you want for GOP in 2012?" polls nationwide. Let's forget that she outpolls O'Bunga right now in a couple polls. Your drinking buddies are just gonna torpedo her, right?

At least you don't have a real high opinion of yourself or anything. My God, what a zilchoramus.

I’ve said this before and tell people I know the same thing.

2012 doesn’t matter at this moment. The focus should be on November.

The White House really needs a person to campaign against, because that is all they know how to do. Zero doesn’t lead and isn’t a leader, but if Palin or anyone declared at this time it would provide a target for his stupid speeches. His followers treat him like their favorite sports team and look at politics like a sports event.

Palin would also run for the right reasons, and I can’t see her trashing other true conservatives just to win. It might be the best primary we will ever see.
