The Wonderful Defiance of Sarah Palin
Mighty Serf ^ | March 28, 2010 | Stacy Drake

Posted on 03/28/2010 7:06:51 PM PDT by curth

Politico reported yesterday that last week was a bad week for the Tea Party movement. I think considering the passage of the Obamacare bill, the dirty tricks and warped journalism conducted by the media to demonize regular American citizens for speaking their minds, and the other horrifying news about our economic troubles, that it was actually a bad week for the country.

Then there was Saturday...

Ten thousand patriotic American's gathered in the Nevada desert to take a stand for the Constitution and to tell Washington that they are not going to sit back quietly while the federal government continues it's power grab, it's wrong-headed economic plans, and it's backwards foreign policy. It was an act of pure defiance in the face of the media that just conducted an all-out campaign to marginalize the grassroots movement.

Governor Palin was the keynote speaker at the event in Searchlight. Her words rang true and hit a chord given the fact that she had been in the same line of fire by the media smear machine. The press used a Facebook statement she released highlighting congressional seats that her PAC is targeting in the November election. Horror of horrors, she used cross-hairs to mark places on the map. Last I checked, cross-hairs were used to mark a spot not entirely for shooting purposes. She also posted on Twitter an "insidious" metaphor, "Don't Retreat, Instead - RELOAD!"

Watching the media and certain lawmakers twist Governor Palin's message would be comical if it didn't so clearly display the troubling relationship between the media and the current government. A relationship that needs to be called out for what it is and watched closely.

It's very troubling considering the media was repeating the ridiculous notion that Governor Palin had incited something (nothing documented) and that it was actually the media who were inciting their own left-wing base! Reported only in the right-of-center blogoshpere, were REAL death threats against Governor Palin and her family posted on Twitter by some lefty maniac. CNN's silence on these threats was expected considering their new role of being watchdogs OF the citizenry FOR the government.

Governor Palin's message to the media and to the left that she delivered at the Tea Party rally in Nevada was clear.

'We're not going to sit down and shut up!'

Which is clearly the goal of the media and the left. They are trying to salvage the reputation of this administration in the eyes of the independents that helped put them in power. They obviously feel the best way to do that is to keep independent eyes and ears away from our message. Demonizing and marginalizing any messenger of that message. I do believe they are seriously undermining the intelligence of independent American's. Fool me once...

I had originally planned to write a piece today about the wonderful defiance of the Tea Party and of Sarah Palin. Before I could complete the write-up, proving to be on the same page with her base, Governor Palin posted yet another act of defiance to her Facebook page. A brilliant note regarding "March Madness" basketball, laced with metaphors sure to make the left's skin crawl. Titled, "Warning: Subject to New Politically Correct Language Police Censorship" She wrote: March Madness battles rage! My family and I join millions of Americans enjoying college basketball’s finest through March Madness. Underdogs always get my vote as we watch intense competition bring out the best in these accomplished teams.

The Final Four is an intense, contested series (kind of like a heated, competitive primary election), so best of luck to all teams, and watch for this principle lived out: the team that wins is the team that wants it more.

To the teams that desire making it this far next year: Gear up! In the battle, set your sights on next season’s targets! From the shot across the bow – the first second’s tip-off – your leaders will be in the enemy’s crosshairs, so you must execute strong defensive tactics. You won’t win only playing defense, so get on offense! The crossfire is intense, so penetrate through enemy territory by bombing through the press, and use your strong weapons – your Big Guns – to drive to the hole. Shoot with accuracy; aim high and remember it takes blood, sweat and tears to win.

Focus on the goal and fight for it. If the gate is closed, go over the fence. If the fence is too high, pole vault in. If that doesn’t work, parachute in. If the other side tries to push back, your attitude should be “go for it.” Get in their faces and argue with them. (Sound familiar?!) Every possession is a battle; you’ll only win the war if you’ve picked your battles wisely. No matter how tough it gets, never retreat, instead RELOAD! Right there is one of the key reasons I support Sarah Palin. Her complete unwillingness to back down in the face of the attacks and smears put out by the press and their masters in the Democrat party. She takes their attacks, turns them on their heads, and aims it directly back at her attackers. That's why it is usually the media and the left that end up looking bad at the end of the day.

Watching the massive distortion campaign by the media last week honestly gave me feelings of frustration on a level I had never felt before. It was such an apparent coordinated effort to demonize people for simply exercising their rights of free speech and an ability to think for themselves. The message back to the media attack machine from patriotic American's and from Sarah Palin is a loud resounding, NO! 'We are not going to sit down and shut up' and by the way, we are 'RELOADING' too!

BTW, Sarah has reached the 1.5 million member mark on Facebook and followers there have pledged to contribute $15 (or more) to Sarahpac to commemorate reaching this milestone.

What was funny yesterday was when she used her “reload” comment, she added a sarcastic caveat, “Now that doesn’t mean anything violent”. The crowd got it and we all had a big laugh.

Here you go: From Sarah.

Thank you, Tea Party Americans! A big thumbs up to the attendees, organizers and volunteers at yesterday’s inspiring Tea Party Express rally in Searchlight, Nevada. Take a look at these aerial photos from yesterday. What an amazing sight to see thousands and thousands of Americans show up in the middle of the desert to freely assemble and have their voices heard. In Harry Reid’s hometown (while he may have been doing a victory lap over the passage of Obamacare), more than 10,000 concerned citizens rallied to tell him and Speaker Pelosi that we’re ready for November.

We’re ready for a fundamental transformation of Washington – no need for their desired “fundamental transformation of America.”

The Tea Party Express rolls on... can’t wait to see you all in Boston on April 14th!

- Sarah Palin

I’ve been reloading and looking through crosshairs all week.

Gotta love Palin’s fighting spirit.

Thanks for sharing that

It was really inspiring to be out there yesterday.

Know what was a nice breather? There was nobody calling Palin names out there. Many candidates gave small speeches and handed out fliers. We were all united against the real enemy.....Obama and his thugs!

It felt great!

Hate to rain on the parade but I’d feel a lot better about Sarah if she’d dump the whole thing about McCain and the Tea Party having the same goals or whatever. It’s troubling.

"After all, someone once said Free Republic is Palin-country."

Palin country my arse! If Palin successfully pushes McCain into another term as my senator she will have ensured Obama has a senior Republican voting for amnesty. When it comes to supporting conservative principles Sarah is a fraud! As an Arizona citizen I couldn't wait for her lying ass to leave our state. When she stated that the Tea Party supported McCain she showed her true colors. Palin's blatant lies may play well in the frozen tundra but out here in the West we deal with reality, illegals and their enablers. Go JD! To Hell with Juan and Palin.

Jeez, forget McCain already. She stands for everything good about this country and you keep bitching on her loyalty to the person who brought her to us. It’s a tired old tale. Don’t crucify her for one issue you disagree with, instead support her for the other 99 you do agree with. He asked her for help, she couldn’t refuse. Sometimes we do things we don’t particularly want to do. Like respond to this comment.

I love Palin’s conservatism and patriotism! She may very well support McCain out of loyalty and I have no problem with that. And I have no problem with whom she supports with her PAC. There is nothing written that says she has to do everything (or anything at all) according to JIM.

Sarah is unabashedly pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Liberty, pro-family, pro-America, pro-constitution, pro-gun, pro-limited government and so am I. And she’s wildly popular among the God-loving, Liberty-loving folks with whom I choose to associate. In short, she’s a refreshing breath of clean fresh air in an otherwise putrid failure of a RINO infested party.

She represents my interests better than any other viable wannabe at this point and if she decides to run, she will have my undivided support!! Romney, the draft-dodging, Big Government, lying statist political whore can KMA!! And your picture does say a 1,000 words, but Bob, unfortunately they’re all about YOU and political whores like you and the results and likely outcome of your slavish, cultish RINOism!!

So you can shove your picture and your RINOs where the sun don’t shine.

Sarah has more guts, talent, ability, patriotism, and sheer determination and love for America and our God-given Liberty than you and Romney and a thousand other RINOS will ever have!

It’s been more than obvious for several years that our pro-Life & Liberty Free Republic has become an embarrassment for you, so why the hell don’t you just take a fricken hike already!!

Shove it, pal.

GET THE HELL OFF FR if you don’t like it, but whatever you do quit your damn whining and pestering good conservative FReepers about your hatred for Sarah Palin!!

It’s beyond sickening.

"Sometimes we do things we don’t particularly want to do."

Where do you live? I am so sick of "American Idol" conservatives willing to worship a skirt while ignoring the invasion of our country because it's the loyal thing to do. I have to state the obvious--you are COWARDS! When Obama pushes amnesty you'll scream bloody murder but when Palin campaigns for the guy who wrote the amnesty bill you'll praise her loyalty.

Again, the MSM misses it when it comes to the Tea Parties. THEY ALREADY HAVE THE INDEPENDENTS!!! Insult the Tea Party movement, insult a wide array of the electorate. This is not a winning strategy.
