Constitution’s “Good & Plenty” Clause Cited
A Semi-News/Semi-Satire from AzConservative ^ | 27 March 2010 | John Semmens

Posted on 03/27/2010 3:49:45 PM PDT by John Semmens

Contentions that the recently passed Obamacare law might be unconstitutional were met with disdain by House Judiciary Committee Chairman, Representative John Conyers (D-Mich).

According to Conyers, “the government is empowered to do anything it deems necessary or useful under the ‘good and plenty’ clause. The Founding Fathers were wise enough to realize they couldn’t foresee the kinds of powers that would be needed in the future. So, they created language in that pretty much says we can do whatever we want if we think it’s for the benefit of the people. Forcing people to buy health insurance surely falls within this broad grant of authority.”

Conyers wife is going to jail because she demanded that some people give her plenty (pay to play).

If you are going to do satire, please choose a fictitious topic.

Conyers actually DID say something along these lines....

Rush talked about it on his show the other day.

When you satirize a true story, you might as well be supporting it.

Love Good and Plenty’s, haven’t had them in a long time. Next week don’t forget Dingelberry. They are the reason for term limits.

I took my Dad shopping last week and Dingel was on WJR, can’t post what he said, but Dingel should spend more time with his family than be in Washinton DC.

You're one word off from not being satire anymore. LOL

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: What part of the Constitution do you think gives Congress the authority to mandate individuals to purchase health insurance?

REP. JOHN CONYERS, D-MICH.: Under several clauses. The good and welfare clause and a couple others.

His wife was born the same year as he was elected to Congress.

Just love Detroit Dems, that’s why we might be turning the city back into farmland.

It reminds me of the 2004 campaign when John Kerry invoked the Lemonhead Clause...

Speaking of ol’ John “Agent Orange” Kerry—wonder how hard that tanning salon tax is gonna hit him?

tanning salon tax

Guess I missed that one. Did they decide tanning beds are really the cause of global warming?

*ahem*

"With respect to the words "general welfare," I have always regarded them as qualified by the detail of powers connected with them. To take them in a literal and unlimited sense would be a metamorphosis of the Constitution into a character which there is a host of proofs was not contemplated by its creators." -- James Madison

Conyers is a Communist who if the truth be known has probably committed many criminals acts and how about that convicted felon wife of his? I think his credibility is not worth anything.

They’re passing out entitlements like candy! Now if they would only pass out candy instead, that could make people happy AND save us a fortune (which makes us happy, too).
