But even if it is less than I had hoped for, this is still a historic piece of legislation.Who gives a SH#T if it's historic? Pearl Harbor & 9/11 were historic, too.
Not everything historic is good. What the hell's the matter with these people?

I'd bet you money this is going to turn into a windfall for insurance and a problem for almost everyone else.
Good job kids. In your rush to bring down the evil insurance companies you've made them government contractors and put us all under their thumb by force. Capitalism didn't do that, socialism did it.

For the first time ever, the people of this country are making this promise to our fellow citizens: Affordable health coverage for everyone. Had a discussion with someone the other night who mentioned healthcare being affordable for everyone under 0bamacare.
Poor dear went all deer-in-the-headlights on me when I said, "I can build houses and cars that are affordable for everyone, but believe me when I say that NO ONE would want to buy them. So, that's why I would have to use the IRS to FORCE everyone to buy them."

I don't understand how people think forcing people to buy insurance is going to be popular. It's not. I think it will be okay until the fines kick in. Reality sets in. This is going to devastate the working poor.
I also think the Republicans are going to get into office and dismantle this--or make it completely unbearable.
It's already unbearable.

“We have class, compassion and feelings for the poor and needy.”
Class, compassion and feelings, huh? Fortunately for you, those things you have come free. Paying for the compassion comes from my friggin’ paycheck.
Further, I’m so tired of being labeled as unsympathetic and mean spirited. I gaurantee I give more in charitable donations (you know, on my own free will and pocketbook) than these demons do. I don’t need the government to donate on my behalf.
God, I hate liberals.

I do not know what those problems will be, and I have no clue how they will be fixed. Neither do the guys who voted for it. But, hey, they're democrats - its just situation normal....

Capitalism didn't do that, socialism did it.
Technically, it is more like Facsism, but same end effect - being screwed by government action.

I have a question... does anyone know
when some of the portions will be in effect? Such as:
- Payroll tax deductions for healthcare
- Employers MUST have healthcare for ALL employees
I am asking because I have a
very small business and pretty much need to know how long I can afford to stay in business or, at the ery least, start trimmng the payroll.

I’m not sure if contract employees will exempt the employer from providing health care. You might want to look into it.

I expected to find the DUmmies in nothing but FULL gloat mode, that at least this is a start on the road to full-blown Marxism.
Thats the way I see it. I see a few guys wanting to take a cross country road trip(COMMUINISM) but have no car. This health bill is an old beatup pickup truck that they found in a barn that hasn't run for years.
After much work they finally got it to fire up. It smokes and rattles and cuts off but its a car and its running. Its the first step in making their road trip a reality.
