Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott today said that Texas will join what is now a total of 12 states in a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of federal health care reform legislation.The suit will be filed as soon as President Obama signs the bill into law.
Abbott said, “"The state has been put into a situation where our liberties are being trampled on in an unprecedented fashion because of swift over-reaching action and the state it being forced to the courthouse.”

Will Texas force federal IRS agents to leave the state too?
Personally, I don’t see any relief coming from the court system; power is the only thing the democrats will understand. Until each and every member of the progressive “elected” “officials” are in prison, I can’t feel safe or free.

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott today said that Texas will join what is now a total of 12 states in a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of federal health care reform legislation.The suit will be filed as soon as President Obama signs the bill into law.
Abbott said, “"The state has been put into a situation where our liberties are being trampled on in an unprecedented fashion because of swift over-reaching action and the state it being forced to the courthouse.”
The specific challenge to the law will target the requirement that Americans be insured or face fines and even jail sentences.Abbot also says the lawsuit will look at the flow of funds out of the state of Texas saying that this legislation could cost Texas families $20 billion over the next 10 years.
The states joining Texas in the lawsuit include Alabama, Florida, Michigan, Nebraska, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, Virginia and Washington.
According to Business Week today:
“Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum said Florida, Texas and Pennsylvania are among 11 states that will sue “as soon as the president signs the bill,” claiming it places a burden on already cash-strapped states to pay for an expanded Medicaid program and build an exchange so individuals can find affordable insurance. Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli also said in a statement his state would sue on the similar grounds.
“States nationwide are facing unprecedented declines in tax collections, according to the Nelson A. Rockefeller Institute of Government in Albany, New York, and are cutting spending on these health programs for low-income residents. Florida will have to spend an additional $1.6 billion for Medicaid alone and hire 1,000 new workers to accommodate the overhaul, McCollum said.
“’This is a bad bill,” McCollum told a press conference in Orlando, Florida. “That’s a political determination and a practical one.’”
Also, you have the mid-terms and if the House goes Republican they can simply refuse to allocate funding for the plan's bureaucracies and start-up costs. This is a Pyrrhic victory of biblical proportions for the Dems. This is why I'm not running around with a chicken without its head. I have confidence in my fellow Americans and states to do the right thing.

Let’s see, our rat governor was an Obama super delegate so you know he doesn’t want to join the lawsuit. OTOH our AG, also a rat, is running to be the the next governor. I’m sure he realizes he needs to get as far away from Obama as possible so he might want to join.

Still trying to figure that one out.
I think rats in Oklahoma need to be added to the endangered species list for sure.
