Jim Bunning Is Caving This Very Minute

But I don't blame him. Not one bit. For one shining moment, Bunning stood up, tall and strong, against suicidal government spending, against ridiculousness, against the deficit-hogging juggernaut that is deliberately tipping this country over the edge into oblivion.

But he could stand up and take direct hits for only so long. You knew it had to end.

I blame the rest of the Republicans that let 2006 and 2008 happen and who, apparently, have no friggin' idea what 2010 represents for them and the nation ... because they didn't stand with him.

When conservatives don’t even stand up for principles, we as a nation are doomed.

If Bunning had voted against every spending bill since 2003 on that grounds that it was not paid for, his argument would have been better.

Bunning made his point.

BTW, extending or not extending unemployment payments ain't no thang in this, the Obama Depression.

The greater thing in the eyes of the majority is the absence of any realistic action on the part of the Democrats to foster job creation.

We now have 24 million unemployed, the greater part of which are young men.

Weimar had a similar situation. They got Hitler.

They’re all socialists now. Hypocrites. Liars. Con-men. Anti-freedom collectivists bankrupting the U.S.A.

Sweep ALL of them out or let them ALL resign and go back to their families. They only understand power. It’s time to flex OUR muscle. The soap box doesn’t work. They control all of the amplification devices. It’s time for the ballot box. It’s peaceful. It’s powerful.

I do not understand what the problem is. Just last week we were told how different the dems and the pubbies were. Beck was a bast*rd right?

Funny how time tells the truth.

How about blaming all of us. who stood up and supported him.
We better start to learn to support conservatives.

Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Obama are leading the Democrats over the cliff. The GOP is committing suicide in private, hiding from the public by NOT standing with Sen. Bunning. We’ve been haranged by Hannity, Levin and Rush about the dangers of a third party. But what about the danger of a me-too second party. You end up in the same place as the socialist first party. What’s the difference?

From time to time, the GOP makes me want to vomit.

This is one of those times.

I really don’t believe that most of its elected members stand for anything at all.

Disgusting.

It’s my understanding that Bunning was objecting to the welfare being extended through the “unanimous consent” method in the Senate, as well as because of “pay-go”.

Dinky Reid, late Tuesday, said he would allow it to go to the floor for an up or down vote, instead of unanimous consent. It was after that that Bunning rescinded his hold.

You are correct. I especially like the minority (and for a good reason) leaders support of Bunning:: “Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky said that he is working with Democrats to set up a vote to pass the legislation, which has been held up by Sen. Jim Bunning, his home state GOP colleague. Bunning has been blocking the bill because it would add $10 billion to the budget deficit.”

The republican party thinks they will fool us long enough to get back in the majority in 2010. When not one had the guts to stand against increased spending with Bunning a blind man can see just how serious they are. Now I am sure we will hear some great excuses.

With a barrage of news articles and TV reports along this line, I am surprised he held out this long.
Like it or not, this type of cry baby reporting by the MSM is a powerful tool against any real change in DC.
Will not be seeing any stories exposing the unemployed working under the table when they should be applying fr jobs.

CNN has been heaping hate on Bunning for the last two days. Every time I walked by the galley TV at work, CNN had some headline like “Bunning hurts thousands”.

D.U. posted a link to this article.
It doesn’t bother them that Obama went back on his word regarding spending... but then it doesn’t bother them that Obama said he cares about “The least of these” and has never given more than 7% of his personal income to charity.

What could cause someone to be that foolish?
