On Obama's use of the word "corps"... this has been making the rounds, but I thought for those who haven't seen it, it is worth posting.
It was shown a long time prior where he used “corpse”, and pointed out that he should have been told by a staffer of Emanuel or Axlerod that it was “corps” so he didn’t make the mistake again. Obviously, that didn’t happen.
I want to use both words in a sentence. Here goes.
Helen Thomas, although resembling a press corpse, is a member of the press corps.
Still not getting as much play as Palin Palmgate.
Has anyone dared to tell him yet? He is so insulated and out of touch that I suspect no one has the balls to tell him that he is an idiot.
Forget Harvard, Occidental and Columbia. Forget grade school, high school and watching TV. The man is uneducated if he hasn’t learned about corpse and corps. And a whole lot of other stuff, too.
They probably didn't know either. OR maybe he did it on purpose to signal his disdain for the military. Maybe he knew that his base would get the code word and the rest of us would just think he was dumb and this would be their little inside joke.
It was a Freudian slip - our Marines will be corpses following the rules of engagement they now have to follow.
Maybe he was just speaking Ebonics?
BRAVO!!
Even by AA standards, he can’t measure up.
Obama did call the Corps the Corpse.
Obviously, zero watched “Gomer Pyle, USMC” as a kid, and thought Gomer was a reliable guide to pronunciation.
C’mon now, one Eagle to another, what do you really think???
Can't we all just imagine the GLEE with which the MSM would react if Sarah Palin had said something like this? They'd be all over it like white on rice, and would NEVER let her forget it! Yet, not one major news outlet, with the possible exception of FoxNews, has even mentioned this!
I had a life-insurance agent who called it the corpse too. None too reassuring when he’s selling me life insurance. But I let it slide. I mean, how was I to expect him to pronounce it correctly when he wasn’t even born in this country?
You wouldn’t be making an off hand remark about ones birth cirtificate would you?
