During his State of the Union Address President Obama gave us hope that the US would finally tap its own resources to make us energy independent:
But to create more of these clean energy jobs, we need more production, more efficiency, more incentives. That means building a new generation of safe, clean nuclear power plants in this country. It means making tough decisions about opening new offshore areas for oil and gas development. It means continued investment in advanced biofuels and clean coal technologies
Sadly like most of the promises coming from this President this pledge came with an expiration date. Only this expiration had a short window, only five days. When President Obama sent out his budget, it showed a decline in revenue from oil land leases, meaning he planned to be more restrictive in allowing off-shore-drilling than before.
But, as Billy Mays used to say, there's more.

Deep down in the weeds, things are very, very dirty. What they are doing used to be called “providing plausible deniability.” And Salazar is a dim bulb, to boot.
Expiration date? You're too kind. Any and all promises from obama can be taken as lies, regardless of timing. Here's a hint, if obama's lips are moving, he is almost certainly lying. If he's promising something, the probability that he is telling the truth becomes almost immeasurably small.
The louder he proclaims something, the more likely his actions will be just the opposite. Anyone remember "no lobbyists?" How about "no more earmarks...line by line through the budget?" Or how about "post all legislation for public review 5 days before signing..." Or maybe "no back-room deals...transparancy" Or maybe "close Gitmo this year." Or "no new taxes on the middle class." Or the knee-slapper "bipartisan" (anything)

We need a governor to tell the Feds to stick it where the sun don’t shine and start letting oil companies come in and drill.

He will not let us drill off shore, but has his newly appointed buddy, Pres. of the Export/Import Bank, provide for a 10-12 billion dollar project off the coast of Brazil. For his fellow traveler buddy Lula, who supported the ousted leftist X-Pres. of Honduras.

Salazar and his boss are shills for OPEC.
We send several hundred billion dollars a year out of the country buying transportation fuels. That money funds other countries' national budgets and employs their people, which is great for them; that money could be spent here, putting our people to work and putting money into our tax coffers. Several hundred billion a year spent here on real energy development would transform our economy.
Had he spent the falsely named "stimulus" money driving us toward energy independence, or better yet had they not spent one dime of "stimulus" but had instead simply opened the door to energy development in Colorado, and Utah, and offshore California, and offshore Alaska we could have short-circuited this recession and turned it around, permanently.
We have enough coal, and enough oil shale, and enough arctic oil to completely transform this economy. We just have to fire the people who keep selling us out to the Saudis.
Nothing with this administration surprises me anymore. 0baMao's intent is clearly to destroy this country.
Obama lies again. We’ll throw this in the stack right next to tort reform, CSPAN cameras, earmarks, and the rest.
He is also lying about nuclear power. He blocked development of a breeder reactor over the protest of his own energy department. Several countries have breeder reactors which result in a more efficient fuel cycle and far less nuclear waste.
If you want to know what he is up to often all you need to do is simply reverse what he says, especially if it something that would be good for our country.

He said what he was told to say by TOTUS; But TOTUS had not yet been programmed with the latest softness coming from Princess Pelosi, PigNose Waxman, Harry Reid; so Zer0 didn’t really know what to say.
Perhaps, once Andy Stern and SEIU checked in tomorrow morning, TOTUS could be re-programmed with “the truth”!!
