TSA: Security fails to spot nuke at Logan

BOSTON, MA (PIO) -- Officials say security screeners at Logan International Airport failed to spot a nuclear device in a passenger's carry-on satchel last month, but the man turned himself in when he realized his attempt to terrorize Americans was a total failure.

Transportation Security Administration spokesman Jack Haas said in a written statement Wednesday that the unidentified man became agitated when stewardesses failed to take notice of him even as he hollered "Allahu Akbar!" and wildly waved the five-foot warhead.

Even the efforts of passengers who tackled the man and tried to snatch the device’s detonator failed to raise concerns among the flight crew. Upon landing, the flight’s 306 passengers were taken into custody and the nuke-toting man was allowed to continue onto his next destination with a one-way ticket.

The incident occurred nearly one week before the alleged Christmas Day attempt to blow up a U.S. airliner reawakened widespread concern over the effects of political correctness on America’s ability to combat terrorism.

When asked for comment, Democratic Senatorial candidate Martha Coakley said, “There are no terrorists in America.”

Don’t be too hard on the TSA. They were not trained to spot 5 foot devices. Such a large device would naturally be overlooked.
