Barack Obama: 'We want our money back.' And who gave it away to the banks, Mr President?
Telegraph Blogs (U.K.) ^ | January 15, 2010 | Gerald Warner

“We want our money back,” Barack Obama has told US banks, announcing a levy on large financial institutions to help repay the notorious bailout he imposed last year. Oh, do “we”? And who gave away the taxpayers’ money in the first place, Mr President?

This pretended identification with Joe on Main Street is a favourite ploy of dodgy politicos with their backs to the wall – Wall Street, in this case, which is imminently expected to announce bonuses beyond the dreams of avarice, hence Obama’s nervous anxiety to be seen to be “doing something”. If Obama wants to see the taxpayers’ money repaid, that will take some doing, since the Tarp bailout cost America $700bn.

The new tax on top banks is expected to raise $90bn – over 10 years. So that is around $9bn a year. But Wall Street is poised to dole out $47bn in bonuses this year alone. If this is assumed to be a lean year, at a very conservative estimate bank bonuses are going to total $500bn over the 10 years that the Obama tax painfully claws back just $90bn for Joe Public. No wonder a financial strategist in New York has already described it as “petty theft from bank balance sheets”.

That is not very nice language. Since the purpose of this cosmetic exercise is to save the face of a President with minimal physiognomy still showing through the egg splattered over his features from just about every policy he has touched, we need a more user-friendly terminology. How about “Small change you can believe in”?

Translation:

“The US taxpayer paid a lot to bail you banks out. Now we want the US taxpayer to pay the government what you banks owe.”

Cheap class warfare rhetoric from ObaMugabe. He must be desperate with the falling polls.

On the bight side, taxing will decrease economic activity and further undermine the Kenyan.

How about a summary showing how much you gave to what banks and how much they have paid back.

Nevermind. It would just be full of false data to support this new tax, which will last forever.

Would you feel better if Bush asked for it back?

“We want our money back”

From the people who repaid the loans with interest. The Auto Workers Unions, our political cronies at Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, the State and local Governments who we wantonly shoveled taxpayer money at don’t have to repay a cent.

Still spending 100% of your time playing Obama Regime apologist I see.

Sorry boyo, but your idol Obamie voted for that bailout. Blaming it only Bush just indicates your hyper partisan political bigotry and ignorance

Funny how you are never pissed off about the $787 billion is wasted spending your idols in the Democrat party spent on a stimulus bill that failed to do anything to stimulate the economy at all.

But then you 0 worshipers have never indicated the slightest hint of intellectual honesty or even basic rationality before, so I guess we should not expect you to start now.

I hate to burst the bubble of rabid ignorance you keep yourself in but most the Tarp money has all ready been repaid with interest.

So we all ready got most our money back that “Bush” spent on TARP

Funny how you O regime propaganda agents are never pissed off about the $787 billion is wasted spending your idols in the Democrat party spent on a stimulus bill that failed to do anything to stimulate the economy at all.

But then you 0 worshipers have never indicated the slightest hint of intellectual honesty or even basic rationality before, so I guess we should not expect you to start now.

GW’s money came back w/interest.

It wasn't GWB's money. It was the taxpayers' money.

Never forget that part.

So did McCain.

Blaming it only Bush just indicates your hyper partisan political bigotry and ignorance

Bush's signature is on the law authorizing TARP.

Funny how you are never pissed off about the $787 billion is wasted spending your idols in the Democrat party spent on a stimulus bill that failed to do anything to stimulate the economy at all.

Under the Bush administration, trillions of dollars were spent, and trillions more pumped into zombie banks.

But then you 0 worshipers

Provide the statements where I have demonstrated worship for Obama. Put up or shut up.

If O goes afterthe banks why not Freddie, Fannie, Chrysler, GM and a host of other cronys. Shove it O Pissant, give the money back to America you have pocketed yourself, what about the fraud you have committed 2 million on defending your falsified birth certificate, 39 Social Security Numbers, falsified Selective Service registration and the Illinois Bar removing both you and your wife’s license for law practice for insurance fraud. Seems you have enough problems of your own that you need to get off your cocaine fix and do the job you pleaded for and stop blaming Bush. Accept responsibility

Well no surprise the 0-bots cannot be bothered to learn a single fact that might challenge their blind adoration of all things Obama.

To repeat myself from post 14,

Provide the statements where I have demonstrated worship for Obama.

Put up or shut up. Where have I demonstrated adoration for Obama?
