Translation:
“The US taxpayer paid a lot to bail you banks out. Now we want the US taxpayer to pay the government what you banks owe.”
Cheap class warfare rhetoric from ObaMugabe. He must be desperate with the falling polls.
On the bight side, taxing will decrease economic activity and further undermine the Kenyan.
How about a summary showing how much you gave to what banks and how much they have paid back.
Nevermind. It would just be full of false data to support this new tax, which will last forever.
"We want our country back," America.
Would you feel better if Bush asked for it back?
“We want our money back”
From the people who repaid the loans with interest. The Auto Workers Unions, our political cronies at Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, the State and local Governments who we wantonly shoveled taxpayer money at don’t have to repay a cent.
GW’s money came back w/interest. Obozo’s is still in the slush fund. Why isn’t he coming down on Fannie/Fredie?
Pray for America’s Freedom
If O goes afterthe banks why not Freddie, Fannie, Chrysler, GM and a host of other cronys. Shove it O Pissant, give the money back to America you have pocketed yourself, what about the fraud you have committed 2 million on defending your falsified birth certificate, 39 Social Security Numbers, falsified Selective Service registration and the Illinois Bar removing both you and your wife’s license for law practice for insurance fraud. Seems you have enough problems of your own that you need to get off your cocaine fix and do the job you pleaded for and stop blaming Bush. Accept responsibility
Well no surprise the 0-bots around here cannot be bothered to learn a single fact that might challenge their blind adoration of all things Obama.
It’s funny how Obama puts on a sympathetic front and says he wants the banks to pay back the taxpayers by putting a fee on these banks who were given TARP money. But what happens when these banks start having to pay these fees? Our interest rates go up. So basically Obama is screwing us twice. This guy doesn’t give a damn about us regular people.
Obama lied: He said when he gave out the money that tax payers had no risk because there was a payback plan with interest, yet, here he is claiming without this tax there is no payback plan. So, we paid the banks money in the first place and now we are to be taxed again for that money. We are paying twice. Yes, I know the tax is a “fee” to the banks but the banks are going to pass that tax on to us.
Still waiting for one of you three 0-bots to explain why you are all in such hysterics at Bush for signing TARP but have yet to say one word about your god-let, 0bama, taking the re-payed TARP money and spending it.
Why do you 0-bots spend every day spamming every possible thread here telling us how we all should be so upset at Bush for signing TARP yet have said NOT ONE WORD about Obama hijacking the REPAID TARP money into new payoffs to his political activists base?
You posting history indicates your posturing as a “Conservative” is specious. You only direct your outrage 1 way and that never involves attacking the Leftists for anything.
We want our money back
Yesterday, President Obama announced our proposed Financial Crisis Responsibility Fee on the country’s largest banks:
“My commitment is to recover every single dime the American people are owed. And my determination to achieve this goal is only heightened when I see reports of massive profits and obscene bonuses at some of the very firms who owe their continued existence to the American people...We want our money back, and we’re going to get it.”
The fee would recover every penny loaned to Wall Street during the financial crisis and stop the reckless abuses and excesses that nearly caused the collapse of our financial system in the first place.
But the banking industry — among the most powerful lobbies in Washington — is already launching attacks to stop Congress from enacting the proposal.
Barack and I aren’t backing down. But to win, we’ll need the American people to add their voice right away.
Thankfully, OFA supporters are already signing on to a bold statement of support: “We want our money back — and we stand with President Obama to make sure we get it.”
The proposal is expected to recoup billions from the big banks, most of it from the ten largest. As the President said, “If these companies are in good enough shape to afford massive bonuses, they are surely in good enough shape to afford paying back every penny to taxpayers.”
There is much more work to do to reform the financial system and create a new era of accountability. But the Financial Crisis Responsibility Fee is a crucial step. And with the banks already working to tear it down, I hope that I can count on you to speak out to show that Americans stand with us as we take them on.

Change isn’t easy, but it’s certainly worth fighting for. I’m glad you’re in this fight with us.
Thank you for making it possible,
