What if Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab had succeeded in detonating his bomb and had brought down Northwest Airlines Flight 253 on Christmas day?
There are a few things we know:

Hey, did you here about the airliner that disintegrated off the coast of Brazil? Weirdest dang thing. Say, what's on TV tonight?
If he had succeeded we would be talking about the faulty wiring that caused this horrible crash that killed so many. Others would claim it was an act of terrorism and then would be ridiculed, even here at FR, for thinking such a thing.
Napolitano:
“The system worked”...”conservatives are racists”
It works with the MSM every time.
The author nails it, and this isn’t just a Bamster thing. The US government will deny any terrorist involvement in anything unless there’s no possible way to explain it away. They’ve done it for years.
Scary really. If no crime occurred then there is no reason to take precautions, or to assume the existing system is faulty or inadequate.
God help us in our day, in Jesus name, amen.
How many “unexplained” airline crashes actually were sucessful terrorist attacks? We may never know.
If this country wants to protect itself, it must immediately block entry from all countries that are infested with jihadis/al quaeda/ extremists/ or whatever they are called. At once. And send all “students” from those countries home.
It’s about survival. I want this country to survive, but it looks like the liberals don’t.
The very first, immediate result, had whatsisname succeeded, is that Whatmeworry Napolitano would have declared that the system worked even better that if he’d not succeeded.
If we just assume that the system she speaks of is the Obama-inspired system of reaching out to, and bringing on board of muslim terrorists to his administration, then her statements make sense. And it makes sense to assume this, given the response to Ft. Hood, the consultations with CAIR, the appointments of muslim radicals to the Homeland Security upper management staff, and so on.
TSA, it seems, now means Terrorists Smuggled Aboard.
The more I read about this the more I think Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab succeeded.
His ability to get on a plane bound for the US without a passport seems incomprehensible. He then supposedly tries to explode a bomb but the detonator fails? I am not buying any of this.
Is our government getting the hint or does it prefer to let innocent Americans get killed for the sake of political correctness?
The answer is obvious. They didn’t get the hint after the Fort Hood incident. They didn’t want to get the hint. They still don’t care even now after the Nigerian-pants-on-fire incident.
Our government would rather have us killed than annoy the cult of death cleverly disguised as a religion.
Faulty aircraft. Bad engineering. Many pages would be cited from the Book of Plausible Excuses for the useful idiots.
It’s simple really.
If security worked, it’s to the dem’s credit.
If the bomber suceeded, it was Bush’s fault.
He was just part of the R&D department.
They’ll get it right soon.
I thank God he was stopped,....but if he had succeeded, I’d have hoped for the plane to take out Dearborn!
...or...poor Farouk is being scapegoated for faulty aircraft...bad engineering.
If he had succeeded, it would have been a nefarious plot of George Bush to take out a large Obama voting block, Detroit!
It would have been Bush's fault
