Dear Glenn,
As is our custom here, we watched your program today and, as usual, enjoyed hearing more truth during your commercial breaks than can be found on the so-called major media outfalls. These are what we formerly called “outlets” but, since nearly everything they emit is garbage and sewage, outfalls is more accurate.
This is what I KNOW.
I’m not all that smart but I do know a few things and THINK I know several others. Among them:
1. When America first established our monetary system via the Coinage Act of 1792, a “dollar” was established as a specific amount and fineness of gold and silver. The Founders attempted to prevent a repeat of the continental experience – when there was no metal standard – when the phrase “not worth a continental” was often heard here. That attempt can STILL be found at Article 1, Section 10 of the Constitution. “No state shall…make any Thing but gold and silver coin a tender in payment of debts;” Over the years, the men who would be Gods in Washington have taken us off that metals standard and the states have abdicated their responsibility to enforce Art. 1, Sect.10 – and, with the help of the media we all know and love, we find ourselves here – in a complete mess.
2. You remark often that Washington no longer listens to us, their ostensible bosses. They once needed us to pay them and pay for their alleged public spending. Thanks to the fiat, printing press “money” they can create at will out of thin air means they no longer NEED us so why, save for their periodic forays into flyover country to solicit our votes, votes often based on the pro-incumbent propaganda spewed by the same media, SHOULD they listen to us? April 15th is nothing more than a vacuuming from the system the excess Federal Reserve Notes (FRNs erroneously called “dollars”) they have created during their reign lest the sheeple catch on to their scam.
If you don’t think this is important, consider what one our mutual heroes, Mr. Jefferson (whose portrait hangs over my mantle) said on the subject:
“When the servants of the people are paid in something other than that which the people themselves produce (i.e., SOMETHING that represents what is actually produced by the labor and sweat of the citizens), the roles of master and servant will be reversed.”
Could what has happened to us be any clearer??
And this is what I THINK I know.
Your traffic light and door frame/earthquake metaphor was brilliant -- but (you knew that was coming, right?) -- let’s say Mr. Smartmoney hands the feds 10 million FRNs at 0 interest. 1 year later, after the earthquake, Mr. Smartmoney goes to the feds to cash in those T bills and gets his 10 million back – only to find that the ensuing inflation (destruction of the value of the FRNs in which those T-bills are denominated) has cut the purchasing power of that 10 million to 7 million FRNs. Mr. Smartmoney has taken a 3 million FRN haircut. He’d have been better off to have moved straight into the red light district found God and bought gold, guns, canned goods, toilet paper and all the other “things” necessary to sustain life.
Love ya’ man. And please be careful. You’re pissing off some serious people -- people from CHICAGO!!

Hate to break this to you — you may be one of the younger folks in here — but Birchers (of which I was and am one) —were TRYING to tell folks this stuff 40 years ago.

They were absolutely, categorically nuts. They were warning about crazy things, they told me the moon landing was faked, that United Fruit was at the center of all communist expansion in the world, etc. ad nauseum. I hope they were not representative of the Birch society, but suspect they were.

The Birch society lectures I heard never talked about the moon landing. You either did not talk to one or you lie.
If you live in California, most of the NON-BIRCHERS out there are nuts — and most are leftists.
Dr. Royal Davis, Nancy Davis Reagan’s father, held some of the first Birch meetings there and he was definitely NOT nuts.

The best book on this is Edwin Vieira's Pieces of Eight. Unfortunately it seems to be out of print and used copies cost many FRNs.
I think your 412.5 and 90% number is how they made dollar coins. (371.25/0.9 = 412.5)
