Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Silvestre Reyes (D-TX) issued the following statement regarding the postponement of a full Committee briefing on information related to the Fort Hood shooting: Here's the full text:
"Due to the high visibility of the issues surrounding the tragic event at Fort Hood, the President has instructed the National Security Council to assume control of all informational briefings.

I am just steaming about this, fellow FReepers.
I think the DC sniper attacks in 2002 qualify as terrorism better than the Fort Hood massacre.
We are now officially the USSR. I watched Dr. Zhivago last night, hadn’t watched it in years and it the similarities were frightening.
Where is congress exerting its investigative powers? Why did Lieberman suddenly cancel his call for an investigation? Something is afoot and it doesn’t sound good and I don’t trust the present administration.
Yes, he was a member of this task force:
Nidal Hasan, the Muslim U.S. Army Major accused of the mass killings at Fort Hood, is listed as participant in the George Washington University Homeland Security Policy Institute’s (HSPI) Presidential Transition Task Force Report. While this is not entirely surprising, given Hasan’s former position in the Army, it raises significant questions about White House reluctance to release relevant records allegedly in its possession.
The HSPI is not a governmental organization, and was not directly tied to the Obama administration’s transition team. Rather, in its own words, it is a “nonpartisan ‘think and do’ tank whose mission is to build bridges between theory and practice to advance homeland security through an interdisciplinary approach...” HSPI has already issued a statement on Hasan’s participation in the task force as follows:
In his capacity as Disaster & Preventive Psychiatry Fellow at the Uniformed Services University School of Medicine, Nidal Hasan registered (RSVPd) to attend as an audience member a number of Homeland Security Policy Institute (HSPI) events in the period June 2008 to February 2009. All of these events were open to the public. At no time has Nidal Hasan been affiliated with HSPI or The George Washington University.

Mind boggling, isn’t it? That one Kenyan Muslim Marxist and a few other thugs, about 350, could take control of over 300 MILLION people, especially when half of them are armed citizens. Our forefathers weep at our weakness.
As I listen to this horrible story unfold, I feel a sense of utter shock and sadness for our service people who were under this terrorist’s psychiatric care.
And now we are finding out he was pushing to charge his “patients” with war crimes.
Can you imagine??!! Can you imagine working through mental anguish under the wolf terrorist invited in by a PC program of “inclusion”???!!
Can you imagine pledging your life to uphold the Constitution then watch who is elected President and then have a Psychiatrist tell you that what you are trained to do is now a “war crime”.
I hope some guardian angels were watching over the people who were funneled to this evil man. I hope that they could see the devil even in their need for healing and fight off the torture.
Prayers and support for all those who have been horribly damaged by this madness we call “tolerance” and other doubleplusungood terms.
We are being eaten from the inside by these people in our medical programs, instituions of learning and business.
I am pretty sure it’s been growing for a long long time.
You got that right!
I’m with you. Just when I think I can’t get any madder..... every single damn day it’s just more BS and we just sit back and take it. sigh.......
The Obama administration has a clear agenda here:http://www.dickmorris.com/blog/2009/11/17/changing-the-subject-why-o-nixed-ft-hood-probe4/1) Stop people from focusing in how his administration permitted the worst domestic terror attack in eight years.
2) Avoid a national airing of how liberal policies restraints on the intelligence community, political correctness in the armed forces might have inhibited the military from reining in Hasan.
3) Re-ignite a firestorm on the left and abroad against the aggressive anti-terror policies of the Bush administration.
stinks you are right ... but horse already left barn, not going back.
The lamestream media accidentally did their job.
“I dont trust the present administration.”
Good.

He's making up the rules as he goes!
Ok, how so?
Just my take....
-Part of larger plot...contacts with other jihadis recently busted.....
-Incriminating evidence re Hasan:-
-His transition role,
-his ‘counseling’ leading to suicides.....
-His advocacy of war crimes charges from confidential info from soldiers......
-
Or something even worse.
The Federal Cone of Silence is now on.
Must be explosive, because the silence of the Republicans indicates something very, very nasty that they are willing to deepsix any inquiry.
Yes, I will think the worst, when both parties act in a bipartisan way to coverup facts.
Did he cancel it?
(Interesting to note that their was a big SEIU health care demonstration at Lieberman’s home last night. Some of Obama’s thugs delivering a message? It is the Chicago way.

Thank you so MUCH, Sir Gawain. I was trying to remember where I had read these 3 points earlier....like I said, I’m so mad about this I can hardly see straight!
Dick Morris may be a lot of things - but he’s got this one PEGGED!
Well, General Casey also wants Congressional hearings delayed, so, there must be some perceived threat to "our diversity".
But what about Lieberman and his Homeland Security Committee hearings? Saw no mention of him.
