Editors Note: In December ‘08 a retired CIA officer commissioned an investigator to look into the Barack Obama birth certificate and eligibility issue. On July 21, 2009 westernjournalism.com obtained a copy of the investigator’s report. Here is an unedited version of the report.

I think that I now understand the legal background to the question of where Obama was born.
Let’s begin with the statement that Dr. Chiyome Fukino, the Director of the Hawaii Department of Health released on October 31, 2008. The television and print media used this statement as a reason to prevent and treat with contempt any investigation into whether Barack Obama was not born in Hawaii. But the language of the statement was so carefully hedged and guarded that it should have had the opposite effect.
“There have been numerous requests for Sen. Barack Hussein Obama’s official birth certificate. State law (Hawai‘i Revised Statutes §338-18) prohibits the release of a certified birth certificate to persons who do not have a tangible interest in the vital record. Therefore, I as Director of Health for the State of Hawai‘i, along with the Registrar of Vital Statistics who has statutory authority to oversee and maintain these type of vital records, have personally seen and verified that the Hawai‘i State Department of Health has Sen. Obama’s original birth certificate on record in accordance with state policies and procedures.”

I have no firm position on Bambi's citizenship status, but lean toward him not be a natural born citizen. This FRWW ping list is not related to any one topic.

I would move the discussion straight to the mods thread and ask them about using freepmail to welcome newbies. The rest of is can say hi and welcome as requested unless they are obvious trolls. The mod’s posts on that particular thread says it all. (Newbies vs trolls)

If you are going to FRWW in the future maybe it would be best to FRmail Newbies. We can call them out for being a NoOb or Troll and still others can offer encouragement to continue posting.
I know when I first started I did not get a hug and some of the people here are the very ones who challenged my in the beginning.
While others were encouraging.
I am a better poster for it and I think we have better posters because of it.
FRWW sounds great but, on this thread topic and the FRWW of the evening, it just didn't work out so well.

Yeah, I followed and posted on the mods thread about this topic. I understand the concept..we don’t want to run off newbies who are not trolls. This is one that caused obvious conflict. A little judgement would have helped because there are so many divisions on this topic. A neutral party would have been better I suppose. That’s why I think a private welcoming email should be automatic, with all the tips, helpful advice and links would suffice. The rest of us can say welcome to fr unless they are obvious trolls ...as mentioned by the mods. Thanks jellybean. Had you posted the welcome, this thread wouldn’t have gotten disrupted.

I didn’t start anything. I did what I was asked to do which was to welcome a newbie. There are several others on the FRWW ping list, old and “new,” so the newbies will receive various perspectives.
The FRWW has NOTHING to do with birthers or anti-birthers. Y’all created that conspiracy out of thin air and jumped off the cliff after it without reading far enough to obtain accurate information.
So don’t accuse me of starting anything. Y’all did that on your own.
