Virginia argues that they don't need to send out military absentee ballots in time to vote

The State of Virginia has argued in a federal court filing that they can legally send out absentee ballots to active duty soldiers the day before an election. Restated again, the Democratic Chairwoman of the Virginia State Board of Election (appointed by the Democratic National Committee Chair Tim Kaine, in his capacity as Virginia Governor) Jean Cunningham just claimed a legal basis for massively raising the barrier to voting for soldiers at war.

This election will be state and local. Virginia does state elections on off years, when there is no federal election.

This is the first I’ve heard of this, and I regularly listen to the news. Until the media in our country gets forced back to the middle we will continue our national death spiral.

If I was in the Virginia National Guard I leave period, and I would make an arrest of the people behind this bill for Treason.

If Virginia prevails, there would be a legal argument for putting the ballots of active duty military at the back of the bus, as it were.

But, but, but how can this be? In 2000, the Inventor Of The Internet kept repeating endlessly how the Democraps just wanted to “Count all the votes”. I guess they’re easier to count if you prevent half of them.

Disenfranchise the vote.

Democrats cannot win fair elections or win a fair debate.

Rigged elections are the rule, not the exception, these days.

Of course all this blather assumes they'll count the damned votes, anyway.

This kind of stunt proves without a doubt the wheels of the republic are just about off.

In the meantime no one, not one Republican specifically has stood up to challenge the constitutionality of the Libweral-Socialist's crap contributing to the republic's demise. Not one, save for Dr. Paul and he's a nut, riiiiiight. /sarc

Hey. No problem.

When the GOP takes the state back then they can LEGALLY send out Absentee Ballots to people in predominately Black & Hispanic zip codes the day before an election. Annnnnnd when they get the Ballots back, after election day, they just throw them in the garbage for being late.

I'm sure the Democratic Party, ACORN, the NAACP, the ACLU, LaRaza, Jesse Jackass, Al Shaprton, and the SPLC would have no problem with this, right? After all, they had their chance to vote, they just didn't comply with 'the rules'.

In fact I think this should be employed throughout the country.

This sort of thing is extraordinarily dangerous, and I’ve been saying this since 2000 and the Gore campaign’s active work at throwing out military absentee ballots in Florida.

Disenfranchising the military is playing with fire over the long haul. If you effectively take away their right to vote, don’t be surprised if some day they take their right back, and then some. I really don’t want to see what a military takeover might look like here in the U.S.

>>Remember, this is the party that p*ssed and moaned in Florida 2000 about making sure everybody’s vote counted - apparently everybody who’s not in uniform, that is.

In Florida, the Gore campaign had plenty of lawyers getting military absentee ballots thrown out on technicalities. It was well-covered here at FR. Also, see my previous post commenting on this whole issue, from a big picture standpoint.
