God, I’ve got a headache. I just got back from the Townhall Meeting with Rush Holt, and as promised I’ve started drinking. A lot. I need to. And maybe you will too if these things go through.
The meeting was scheduled to start at 7pm, so like a good anal-retentive type I got there at 4:30…and I was about the 20th person on line.

The blog post describes the crowd as 60/40 (against/for) -- so if if that's happening in the 12th District (E. Brunswick, Trenton, Princeton, etc.), you know they're in trouble.

Sounds like you need a trade-in for your congressional clunker. He seems not to get the difference between ‘consent of the governed’ and sees it more as if ‘he is part of the ruling WDC walled city politburo’.
The more you see of these congressional clunkers up close and personal, the clearer that view seems to become.
And here I thought townhalls were for listening.

In trouble indeed. After all, East Brunswick is always the statewide campaign HQs for the Dimmies.
A business asso. went to Pallone’s T.H. meeting in Piscataway last week, and heaped Hell Fire on his forehead over the recent rise in business taxes. Also, the pending 8 percent buss. tax for health care and the potential stifling taxes from cap and trade.

The crowd in Rep Pallone’s town hall meeting in The People’s Republic of Piscataway was 65% against the bill as well. That’s trouble for Pallone.

There was a rather revealing moment in a subsequent question along these lines, which asked “why are you forcing this plan on us?” and the response from the more vocal supporters of the plan was “because we won the election!” which I thought was a particularly nice gesture from the “building bridges and community” crowd.Oh, okay. So now we know what to do and what to say, after we win the 2010 and 2012 elections, and they start whining about the major policy changes we'll be stuffing down their throats: "Because we won the election."
