The first reaction to a story like this is get wrapped ’round the axle of HBO’s hypocrisy, so let’s get that out of the way: Of course no Republican who had behaved in the same manner as ”sex columnist” Dan Savage would get a shot at an HBO show. But there’s really no hypocrisy when you realize that Bill Maher’s network is waging ideological war. Through that prism of clarity, the network’s desire to do business with and thrust Mr. Savage further into the American cultural/political landscape is perfectly consistent.

Most people don’t understand how childish, hateful and self righteous the liberals are.

Don’t you find that in any setting they have to impose their political beliefs? My wife is taking online post grad courses having zero to do w politics and they constantly have to make leftist comments as if there is no other viewpoint.

On business matters, I will be negotiating by email and they’ll add in remarks attacking Sarah Palin though they have no idea of my politics.

Since Mr. Savage is gay I doubt he had much reason to worry about what he might catch from the door knobs. His lifestyle has much higher risk factors in it.

do you have any idea how dirty we are? test the bottom of your shoes, your cell phone, your silveware, your money. it's gross!

but we don't get sick all too often because germs and bacteria are not alltogether harmful, in fact they are necessary. a weakened immune system is the key to getting sick unless it's something new like H1N1 which we have no immunity from, yet.

for every piece of garbage HBO puts on, they also put on a series like Band of Brothers. it evens out for me.

Remember when you could get arrested for wearing a -shirt that insulted the president? Times have changed. Now you can threaten the president’s life in front of a sitting U.S. Senator. Good times. Hey, you can even pray for the president’s death from the pulpit...

They’re trying to get him killed. Let’s pause to contemplate the rioting that ensue if they succeed in getting the president killed.

I was offered HBO and Showtime as a come-on for TV Service. I took the service but ordered these channels off. The stunned salesperson told me that they were FREE and all I had to do is to ‘opt out’ at the end of the trial period. I told that person that I wasn’t into porn or even intellectual porn and ‘no thanks’. 2 months later I happened to be channel flipping and found HBO still playing and when I called again was informed that it was ‘Customer Ordered’ and I was going to be billed for it! It took a bounce-up to the supervisor’s manager before the TV provider would agree to canceling the service. It is 5 months to the end of my contract with these bozos, I WON’T be renewing!
