Why do you want to reinvent the best medical care in the world? Why? When people come from all over the world to receive medical care here, why are you trying to take control of it? Do you imagine the doctors want to ANSWER to the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT for every decision they make? We will lose our good doctors and like England, Sweden and especially France, we will end up with doctors imported from China and India as American youth turn away from going into medicine.

Back out of this, BACK OFF OF THIS and STOP TRYING to MICRO MANAGE your nation.

I see that (D-CT) US Senator Christopher Dodd has not chosen to go to Canada or the UK for his prostitute cancer operation; he will stay in the US for his surgery.

Dodd plans to spend recovery time at his humble Irish cottage during the Congressional recess.

At age 65 is Dodd actually too old to have this expensive operation?

What is the economic payback for America on a cost/benefit basis at his age?

I say give him cheap painkillers like Chi-Com generic aspirin and send him back to his cottage in Ireland to spend more time with (D-MA) US Senator Edward Kennedy to play sandwich games with their Hugo Chavez blowup doll.

That's the exact question I asked on a cash for clunkers thread. Heck, if they can't even estimate correctly on such a relatively SMALL scale, they certainly can't do so on something as large as ObamaSCare!

These Democratic Blue Dog Reps all ran in conservative districts, many (oh, the irony is rich) with the encouragement of Rahm Emanuel. Many of these guys ('n gals) are vastly inconsistent in what they say and the way they vote. But...

Nevertheless, each and every one of them comes up for re-election in 2010. If they perceive (and they are beginning to perceive) that ObamaCare and other hyper-expensive programs will soon begin to stink like A Solid Waste Disposal Bouquet, they can be ... persuaded ... to ditch it while the ditchin' is good.

So write or call your Congress-critter. There's nobody whose ... assets... he values more than his own.

Here is a link to the full House Democrat Health Care Plan in PDF. In Section 1233 E & F, pages 426-433, you find the part about mandatory end-of-life counseling for anyone over 65 years of age. Section 152 Page 50: All healthcare services will be provided without regard to "personal characteristcs" which is not defined within the document but is understood to include immigration status.

Section 224 b Page 125: The Secretary shall design and implement the payment mechanisms and policies under this section in a manner that — (1) seeks to (B) reduce health disparities (including racial, ethnic and other disparities).

A lot more provisions now being documented at that site.

Donwload it, read it, study it, then hammer your reps over it and pass it on to all you know asking them to do the same.

Did most of these reps run in conservative districts and portray themselves as such?

Yes, they did, and they were recruited personally by Rahm Emmanuel to run against RINO Republicans who were in trouble with the base because of their profligate spending, and sometime squishiness on abortion. Most of these 'conservative' Democrats were pro-life, so represented an alternative to the Republican for those folks who weren't tied to a particular party, but did want a pro-life candidate.

Most of these Blue Dogs, after making lots of noise about how That One's proposals have been too expensive, have gone ahead and voted for them, anyway. It will be interesting to see how they come down on ObamaSCare.

The Republican party should start lining up conservatives to run against these folks in 2010. They'll have several ready-made issues, if they're willing to use them.

It is amazing how many moan about this and other issues and yet the other day I met a guy who said he has never called.

When I asked why he said it won't make a difference .

Had to explain that if we all felt like that then the official will always get their way but if we all applied pressure instead of waiting for others then they the Govt would fear us more seeing as they care about losing their own job and power

Let’s turn into community organizers. The Obama team called upon his teams of bloggers to get out there and saturate the internet to help get this Health Care bill passed. We need to do the same. We didn’t do it during the election and the community organizer did a superb job and we ended up with a Marxist in the White House. Let’s roll!
