They were all great men. I’m in awe of the humility Washington showed by stepping down when he probably could have been president for life.
That was probably the most important thing he did for us in a very long list of impressive accomplishments.

I would name Benjamin Franklin, as the most pragmatic of the Framers, a quality of mind that is very important in American history. But I also name Thomas Paine as the one who accomplished the most, with the least amount of recognition.
