It's not just the colossal amount of waste in the Obama Recovery Kill that has my head trying to make apple juice out of pomegranates, but it's trying to figure out how the meatheads who created this thing arrived at some of their funding figures. (Whole cloth comes to mind).
For instance, $650 million has been allocated for "abandoned mine sites." Call me uncreative and void of vision, but how exactly does one spend over a half-billion dollars on abandoned mine sites?
On bigger signs warning people to stay out?
To fill the holes?
To put up a gift shop?
Interestingly enough, the mine money is $150 million dollars more than the funds set aside for state and local fire departments. I may not have supported the Obama spendulous disaster, but at least shoveling money into fire departments makes some sense to me.
There is, of course, the much talked-about ...

Administrative costs. It is the government, after all.
Ummmmm. You don't REALLY want to know that!
From Newsbusters.org...
...during a press conference on an undetermined date, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Cali.) -- you know, the second in line for presidential succession right behind the vice president!!! -- said, "Every month that we do not have an economic recovery package 500 million Americans lose their jobs."
Amazingly, she's made this same comment at least twice in the past month -- in front of cameras, mind you!!! -- without creating a media firestorm: (video embedded below the fold):
In reality, this isn't the only time she's made this absurd -- and IMPOSSIBLE!!! -- claim, for this is what transpired when she was being interviewed for the January 18 installment of "Fox News Sunday" (relevant section 1:15):
NANCY PELOSI: Well, I believe that - I know that President-elect Obama is a strong supporter of America's workers. I myself am a strong supporter of that legislation. We passed it with a strong vote in the House in the last Congress, and I continue to be supportive of it.
But in terms of what we have to do in the first 100 days, we must address the needs of this country. Five hundred million people will lose their jobs each month until we have an economic package.
CHRIS WALLACE, HOST: No, 500,000.
PELOSI: What did I say, million?
WALLACE: Yes, 500 million. That would really be a recession.
PELOSI: Oh, no. Excuse me. Thank you for correcting me.
WALLACE: Yes.
PELOSI: It feels like 500 million. Five hundred thousand Americans will lose their jobs each month until we have a recovery package.
Yes, Madam Speaker, it feels like almost twice the entire population are losing their jobs each month.
Rest assured that if the citizens were to cry out and try to forced actual budget cuts, the politicians would look at the ledger and say:
"Hmmmmmmmmm. We got $650M here for abanonded mines. Can't touch that. Uhhhhhh, we got $500M for fire depts. Yeah -- tell the people we're gonna cut fire depts. And elementary schools. And mention the fact that we're gonna be throwing old folks out into the street if they force us to cut the budget. See how they like them apples!"
Got an e-mail from my union yesterday, urging me to call my reps and tell them to vote FOR the stimulus package. I replied “Who is John Galt?” Haven’t gotten a response yet.
Obamities care more about easy sex.
They are so excited to scare people. What a bunch of Pelosi.
“$335 Million for STD research”
result: “we need more condoms”
If you don’t know what needs to be done at abandoned mine sites, perhaps you shouldn’tbe commenting on it, eh?
We may need that research, considering the way we are being f***ed.
