Although he once labeled Iran a tiny country posing little threat to the United States, President-Elect Barack Obama pointed out that he also said Iran was a genuine threat. This cautious policy straddle during the campaign is now reflected in his announced strategy for how his administration will deal with that country.
“We should be willing to initiate diplomacy as a mechanism to achieve our national security goals, and my national security team, I think, is reflective of that practical, pragmatic approach to foreign policy,” Obama said. “I faced bullies in high school. I found then that if I gave them my lunch money and agreed to perform other services they left me alone. I see no reason why a similar compromise can’t be reached between us and Iran.”
In related news, it has been disclosed that Barack’s 71-year-old mother-in-law, Marian Robinson, will be residing with him and his family in the White House. “I’m going to keep an eye on him and try to make sure he doesn’t go smoking crack or hang out with hoodlums like he did in Chicago,” Robinson declared. “After all, he is president now and a lot more people will be out to make him look bad and bring him down.”

IT’s so cute when a dumb liberal tries to play smart. It is also dangerous. Obama has no idea what has been tried in the past but he repeats the libral montra that we have just never sat down with Iran before, and if he is able to just speak with them we will see the error in our ways and change for the better. Iran will then love us and all will be peaceful in the world because liberals know that all that conflict over there is our fault somehow. Liberals hate America.

I don’t know....If Obama sits down and talks to them muslim-to-muslim, they might come to some common understanding....
I recall when I worked for EMS years ago we frequently had a volunteer rescue squad responding with our units. The volunteers were usually on the scene before our paramedic unit could get there. It used to really aggravate the volunteers that even after they told the paramedic crew what the patient had for vital signs the paramedics would always proceed to do another BP, pulse, etc. When you are ultimately responsible for the patient you can't take anyone’s word about that patient. If you don't see it, feel it, sense it, etc. then it's simply not so as far you're concerned.
I was chief of paramedics and the complaints from the volunteer squads would come to me. I finally convinced them that our crew doing their own set of vital signs was not a reflection of a lack of faith in the volunteer crew. I'm not sure all of them ever got over the feeling they were being diss’d by the paramedics.
Obama might well feel that he has to go through the whole process, step by step, just to be sure his ass is covered with those who don't like what he eventually has to do to keep a lid on terrorists.
I have no doubt he will fail at almost everything he undertakes, especially in view of the hoard of incompetents he's amassing for this administration but I plan to give him a chance. More of a chance I might point out than anyone gave George Bush when he entered the office.
We all know this is satire, right? This article had me going until the quip about giving lunch moneyto bullies. Sad to say, it’s uncomfortable when satire so closely matches reality...
