Sixty-two percent (62%) of Republicans back Israel's decision to take military action against the Palestinians, but only half as many Democrats (31%) agree. A majority of Democrats (55%) say Israel should have tried to find a diplomatic solution first, a view shared by just 27% of Republicans.

I think this situation is going to be wrapped up by Inauguration Day (Hamas will be effectively destroyed, and Fatah will take over Gaza), but if there's a chance that it's not, it will be the next set of groups that Obama will have to choose between when it comes time to piss someone off. Does he go with the Rat base and use the US position on the Security Council to condemn Israel, or does he pander to the Jewish voters who gave him so very much support?

My guess: He can win re-election and most of his immediate agenda without Jewish support. I mean, what are liberal Jewish congresscritters going to do, anyway? Vote with the Republicans to shut down socialism?

This doesn't surprise me, but it sure disturbs me. My piano teacher's father survived his concentration camp sentence, and yet the son is a complete pacifist. He's anti-2nd amendment, and supports socialism in all respects. He grew up in a satellite of the USSR, so I keep reminding myself that he was fully indoctrinated into socialism, but the pacifism still amazes me. He keeps saying that we don't need guns; the police will protect us. Yeah, like they protected his father . . .

Like many people I know, he left a socialist state and loves the quality of life in America. Unfortunately, many of these immigrants want to impose the same socialist constraints on America that strangled the economies and liberties of the nations they left. It shows me how deeply indoctrinated people are, and how poorly they learn from the examples of history.
