Change... Obama Announces Creation Of His Marxist Youth Corps (Heil Comrade Obama!)

Here's some hope and change for you...
Barack Obama will require students to partake in 50 of community service in middle and high school and 100 hours in college:

Via LGF Quick Links.
Don't think for a minute that this won't include some kind of indoctrination:

Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by developing a plan to require 50 hours of community service in middle school and high school and 100 hours of community service in college every year.
At one time in our history church groups would volunteer to assist their community.
Now, we have the Church of Obama.

Maybe this helps explain the sudden surge in firearm sales.

Related... This was timely.
Claudia Rosett wrote more about Obama's ideas that subordinate individual freedom to the collective.
This is getting a little scary.

But the courts will soon be packed with people who share his same Marxist worldview.

Then, it will be time to take a stand against the policies of this Marxist and his ilk. People here in Texas will not give their children over to this evil - not for one minute. There will be a revolution, after all, isn't that what Marxists love best?.

ah many schools ALREADY require community service hours.

You can volunteer anywhere you want as long as it is a charity.

This includes veteran hospitals.

We could set up a freerepublic.com charity to help veterans.
how about a military scholarship charity Rush supports, they could get a lecture from rush.

No one here is opposed to community service. We’re opposed to the federal government “requiring” it from our children. My young children are homeschooled, and they volunteer their time without the government or a school system telling them to. They do so, out of the goodness of their hearts.

But, there’s a big difference between your local school requiring community service for high school seniors and the federal government requiring BOTH middle school and high school students across the country to do service.

And let’s be more clear: Obama has been talking about 50 hours of community service PER YEAR from BOTH middle and high school students. Not just 40 hours your senior year. Here’s what he said in the speech linked below: “So when I’m President, I will set a goal for all American middle and high school students to perform 50 hours of service a year...”
http://www.rockymountainnews.com/news/2008/jul/02/text-obamas-speech/

It’s important that we oppose such a requirement. We must question the necessity of such a requirement. Obama’s plan gives the federal government even more control over public schools. You won’t be able to opt out of the “required community service” by moving or transferring to a different school, for example. And how will the Democrats define “community service”? It may not be what you’d want your children doing.

We homeschooled, too; our son is 22. There were some (many/ uncounted) things I neglected to teach him, and sometimes I wish he’d been at some fancy Prep School in the area. But yesterday I thought - my number one goal was to teach him how to think for himself and that will serve him really well for these Dark Times.

Okay, here is our chance to get in a bit of action. Go to http://change.gov/agenda/healthcare/ and submit questions on how Obama is going to fund everything. Be honest, though, about real-life situations. For example, I asked how Obama was going to help my stepmother afford care for my dad, who is 85 years old and has dementia. Because Obama (and all liberals) supposedly have the answers for everything.

What are they going to do - send minors to jail for failure to participate? Of course not -- they'll jail the parents for failing to instill the proper love of hope and change, and then put the kids in foster care with more tolerant, less conservative families.

No, it doesn’t (at least based on what I know of the Hitler Youth).

And we CANNOT start comparing everything he does to Hitler. That is UNACCEPTABLE. THEY did that to us for eight years and it was as disgusting then as it will be if we do it. We cannot stoop to their level. Ever wonder why they could not win an election until they started running conservative democrats and fewer loose screws like Howard Dean? They stopped playing up the crazies!

Don’t become them. Don’t become them. Don’t become them. Don’t become them. Even if it doesn’t win an election, it will at least keep your soul free of that kind of stain.

If he *actually* turns into Hitler then call me...but this isn’t it AND WE WILL NOT WIN ANOTHER ELECTION IF WE START CALLING HIM THIS RIGHT OFF THE BAT.

Don’t become them. Don’t become them. Don’t become them.

"I can't quite wrap my brain around such a thing happening or what we would do if it should occur. One thing is certain; They won't get our kids. No way. no how. "

If you come up with any answers let me know. I haven't begun homeschooling yet, but I'm preparing to. I won't sacrifice my children to the government.

Those reluctant to contribute to the effort “will be asked to attend special education sessions to try to help them overcome their selfish aversion to work for the common good,” Obama continued. “We will change America, one soul at a time if that’s what it takes.”

Hmmm I don't like this bs. And if we don't want to attend..What happens then? Is he going to get his butt out there & work right along us or be sitting with his wife & family on their arses in the White House?

“by developing a plan to require 50 hours of community service in middle school and high school and 100 hours of community service in college every year.”

This is a draft and we need to publicize it as such! This is compulsorily government server put on minors and anyone with legal resources needs to lay the groundwork to fight this (in a favorable district) *NOW*
