This is not a typo... local blogs are HOT about this !!
Christ won’t stand for it. The gas stations will be fined.
I doubt Jesus Christ will be writing any tickets :)
I know you meant Gov. Charlie Crist.

Gouging here in Arkansas too - 40-60 cent jump in the last 8 hours.
Governor declares state of emergency for Ike
By The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
Friday, September 12, 2008
Gov. Mike Beebe has declared a state of emergency in Arkansas because of gasoline supply disruptions caused by Hurricane Ike.
Beebes office said Friday that he expected increases in gasoline prices because some supply pipelines have been shut down. Beebe said he made the declaration to help the attorney generals office pursue anyone who participates in price-gouging.
Arkansas statute 4-88-303 states that once a state of emergency is declared, sellers of certain goods can raise prices only by 10 percent unless they can prove that their own costs have increased.
Earlier Friday, state Attorney General Dustin McDaniel asked Arkansans to send pictures and other documentation of gasoline price gouging to his office.
Arkansans can send evidence to the attorney generals office of gouging to gas@arkansasag.gov or text a picture to (501) 539-0969. They can also call (800) 482-8982.

Limited reserves. Simple as that. America’s second wake-up call.
DRIL HERE! DRILL NOW!
DRIL HERE! DRILL NOW!
DRIL HERE! DRILL NOW!
LOL!
Goughing on gasoline should be reported to the AG’ss office in Tallahassee. It’s against the law. Martin County gas @ $3.659 at present.
MOntgomery, Al - Filled up this morning at $3.49 (had to take a trip to Birmingham) — Same station is $3.54 this afternoon. Prices that I have seen range from $3.51 to $3.99 here. Most places seem to be up .10-.30 today. Comparable to what they rose before Gustav and what they rose after Katrina.
Anger should be directed at radical enviros who have made sure that gas demand is greater than domestic supply.
Anti gouging laws do nothing to increase supply or get gasoline to consumers.
It’s anecdotal, but the Florida gas run is on! Stations on two corners of an intersection here on Florida’s east coast (Palm Bay) were at $3.60 this AM. One is now at $3.73 and the one staying at $3.60 has a line spilling out into traffic. Further on down the road the price climbs to as high as $3.89. Every station is doing a brisk business with cars lined up waiting for a pump to open.
Hurricane Gustav took down quite a few refineries in Louisiana. A few of them still have not returned to full production. Hurricane Ike is headed for Houston and will shut down refineries from Lake Charles Louisiana to Houston. That area represents a huge portion of our country's refining capacity, and we don't know how long those refineries may be down or operating at reduced capacities. In addition, Hurricane Ike is running just south of most of our offshore platforms, so the worst parts of the storm will be hitting those platforms. If many platforms or pipelines are damaged, then we could have crude oil supply interruptions for weeks.

I’m in Lakeland, Florida. When I filled up this morning with 89 octane it was $3.74 and when I filled up this evening at 5:00 it was $3.95. Quick jump.
hmmm
Due to the Ike hurricane slamming into Houston Channel where most of the U.S. refineries are located. Damage to the refineries will limit production, causing price increases.
All we need are new laws requiring driving only 3-1/2 days per week per family. This could be done like water rationing is done - one side of the block one day - other side next day.
Who says we all need to drive 7 days a week anyway. We have gotten so very spoiled. If more driving required, buy a horse and carriage.
A better solution is emergency legislation to sweep away enrviro laws/rules that have made new refinery construction impossible.
The weather guy on Fox said that the refineries may have taken the brunt of Ike, and it could be weeks or months before they are back on line.
DRILL HERE< DRILL NOW
Because the media have promoted a minor panic and everyone rushed to the gas stations to buy gas. Many of our local stations ran out, not because of any reduction in deliveries but because the cars were lined up at the pump all day. The storm was never projected to come this way. The prices in town went up 25-4o cents. On the beach not at all.
